Learn more about the opportunities we create for students, employees, and our province at .Position SummaryReporting to the Manager, Work Integrated Learning Services, this position will establish, maintain, and enhance the co-operation necessary amongst WIL host sites/employers, learners and faculty to ensure that all stakeholders benefit from participating in work integrated learning at Bow Valley College. The Work Integrated Learning Officer – Clinical Placement supports learners in work integrated learning placements including but not limited to practicum, field placements, clinicals, and placement-based service learning. The incumbent will implement, coordinate, and promote WIL, facilitate learning, and help learners to bridge their entry into the workplace.Position responsibilities and accountabilities include but are not limited to:

  • Oversees Work Integrated Learning (WIL) placements (Clinical and Practicum) by fostering relationships with partners, ensuring smooth operations of placement processes, and using systems like HSP.net.
  • Collaborates with WIL Manager, program coordinators, and faculty to facilitate and confirm student placements.
  • Manages WIL data, including student records and site contacts, while attending relevant training and workshops to stay updated on WIL platforms.
  • Tracks placement requests, approvals, and declines, resolving issues and providing guidance to learners and hosts.
  • Coordinates communication and networking between faculty, students, and placement partners, ensuring alignment with program needs.
  • Researches and develops strategies to engage new placement opportunities and ensures program compliance and student success.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required qualifications:

  • 2 years of related experience
  • Diploma
  • Excellent time management and priority setting skills
  • Works well independently and collaboratively on a team
  • Strong presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Strong technical skills and experience using database and CRM platforms
  • Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills
  • An equivalent combination of directly related education and experience may be considered
