Job Description: Job DescriptionPosition Summary
The Senior Sales Contracting & Closing Specialist assumes a leadership role in the central responsibility of the day-to-day responsibilities to win customers by completing the sales process to connect new growth to the Washington Gas (WG) system. Performs and oversees process driven procedures to create new Business Partners and Sales Orders in SAP and ARM to monitor the progression. Creates and delivers customer commitment agreements, explains the New Business financial evaluation process and governing tariff language (GSP-14) to customers and oversees the project to the point of authorization. Monitors the project from authorization to installation. Provides data analysis and performance reporting that enables the Company to drive sales of natural gas and related decarbonized and efficient energy solutions. Identifies, designs and implements business process and system improvement opportunities to improve efficiency and ensure success of our Value Drivers.Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Acts as backup to Sales Contracting & Closing Manager and assumes responsibilities when Manager is not available.
  • Provides training for Sales Contracting & Closing and Customer Acquisition teams when necessary.
  • Becomes primary point of contact for customers with questions & concerns related to New Business Tariff / General Service Provisions (GSP-14)
  • Takes lead on providing reports and develop new reports for Sales Operations related to Stage 5 and post-authorization of projects.
  • Manages New Business projects (BCAs) from project evaluation to authorization.
  • Monitors New Business projects (BCAs) from authorization to installation.
  • Monitors daily work activities in ARM to determine all new business projects ready for Customer Agreement, contribution quote preparation.
  • Completes data entry into SAP to create and deliver customer agreements and installation quote documents, etc.
  • Delivers Customer Agreements to customers and any New Business refunds or invoices necessary post-evaluation.
  • Reviews and submits BCAs to the Sales Operations Supervisors for authorization.
  • Monitors daily non-commodity process in SAP to track signed customer agreement documents/contribution receipt.
  • Performs consistent customer outreach to resolve outstanding customer agreements to expedite job approvals.
  • Communicates with customers to answer questions pertaining to contribution cost analysis. Serves as second tier caller assistance for escalated customer calls.
  • Works closely with BCA Managers & Supervisors to resolve issues regarding job design, installation routes, etc.
  • Identifies and implements strategic process improvements to improve efficiency and to help meet the company value drivers.
  • Performs SME related activities (research and development, testing, training and roll-out activities) on all system and process upgrades that impact New Business/Growth.
  • Extracts and manages data from Salesforce (CRM), ARM, SAP and other systems to analyze new business projects and ensure a healthy pipeline.
  • Provides reports to internal Sales and Marketing management team on stalled BCA’s, jobs awaiting authorization, permit status, orphaned WRs and development of trends in the Washington Gas service territory.
  • Provides periodic reporting on sales and sales support performance relative to GCX Division targets. Develops and communicates insights from analysis including creation of data visualizations.
  • Works closely with Construction, Construction Support & Contractor Services to coordinate timely Meter Sets with customers.
  • Engages with Business Intelligence & Analytics to improve methods of project tracking.

Qualifications, Skills and Abilities

  • Bachelor’s Degree Business, Marketing, Engineering or a related field preferred
  • 5+ Years Utility new business, construction management, project management or engineering/design required
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully negotiate business agreements and to resolve disputes with both internal and external business partners, required.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish rapport and effective working relationships, required
  • Demonstrated ability to present ideas logically and concisely to diverse audiences, both verbally and in writing, required
  • Experience with the natural gas or utilities industry, preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively evaluate multiple scenarios and to implement effective solutions to broadly defined business problems, preferred
  • Demonstrated customer service and/or sales skills to expedite job closing/authorization, preferred
  • Proficiency operating computer information technology, software and applications, including Microsoft Office, to calculate, analyze, share, retrieve, research and present business information, preferred.
  • Working knowledge of SAP, ARM, Salesforce, PowerBI and GIS systems, preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously, preferred

We offer a competitive salary range of $91,500 to $125,625 per year, commensurate with experience, education, and skills.
