These are permanent positions at Vale Base MetalsThe Warehouse Technician must serve all areas of the site and gain confidence from maintenance and operations that material required will be available and delivered as required. A safety-first attitude while operating a range of warehouse equipment and maintaining an organized, clean, and professional work site is required.Additionally, in this position you will:
- Perform all actions required to ensure materials required by the business are on hand and available for use, including tracking materials and troubleshooting problems that arise.

- Ensure a safety-first standard exists on a day-to-day basis by doing regular safety inspections on equipment and area. The incumbent must know all safety policies and strictly adhere to them,
- Organize and store documents pertaining to all purchase order receipts and reservations
- Fulfil all business unit orders from the warehouse with a focus on the accuracy and timeliness.
- Research and apply the handling and storage requirements for all materials entering the warehouse
About YouEducation:
- A minimum of a grade 12 education
- Class 5 Driver’s License
Experience:
- 2+ years’ experience driving a forklift (with certificate).
- 2+ years’ experience in a warehouse environment.
- Experience using SAP preferred.
- Knowledge of maintenance materials preferred.
- Lean, 5S experience.
- Previous mining or heavy industrial experience would be an asset.
Skills:
- Must have a good understanding of Safety and Environmental policy and procedures and ensure work is conducted accordingly.
- Knowledge of maintenance materials spheres (piping fittings, pumps, actuators, etc.) preferred.
- Transportation of Dangerous Goods experience or certification is an asset.
- WHMIS.
- The ability to manage heavy physical work. This is defined as maximal lifting and/or carrying of up to 50lbs.
