Job Description: Job Description:We are offering an exciting opportunity in a National non-profit association. Based in Ottawa, Ontario, we are seeking a VP/Director of Finance to lead our financial operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting, as well as managing corporate cash flow and treasury. This is a hands on role managing two staff and is an integral part of the management team, contributing to the strategic direction of our organization.Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the preparation and communication of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reporting.
  • Coordinate the development and monitoring of corporate and project budgets.
  • Oversee cash flow planning to ensure availability of funds and manage Reserve Fund investment and corporate asset management.
  • Oversee finance department activities ensuring proper maintenance and management of all accounting and administrative systems, functions, and records.
  • Serve as the key point of contact for external auditors; manage preparation and support of all external financial year-end audits.
  • Assist other departments with management and implementation of new revenue and donation streams.
  • Present financial statements to the CEO and Finance & Audit Committee on a regular basis.
  • Develop tools and systems to provide financial information to the CEO and Finance & Audit Committee and make recommendations.
  • Oversee AR and AP management.
  • Oversee payroll and benefit administration.
  • Manage, review, and maintain all third-party supply and service contracts.
  • Ensure legal and regulatory compliance regarding all financial functions.
  • Oversee and implement controls, systems, financial plans, software, and processes to improve the effectiveness of the finance department.

Requirements:

  • • Applicant must have a minimum of 7 years of experience in a finance leadership role
  • CPA required
  • Proficiency in Annual Budget planning and execution
  • Experience in Financial Statement Preparation is mandatory
  • Applicant should be skilled in Board reporting
  • Knowledge of Annual Operating Budget is required
  • Expertise in Budgeting and Forecasting is necessary
  • Familiarity with Non-profit Accounting is desirable
  • Experience in managing Corporate Treasury is essential
  • Proficiency in Quickbooks Online is a must
  • Applicant should be skilled in Month-end Financial procedures
  • Experience in handling Annual External Audit is mandatory
  • Knowledge of Federal Funding procedures and regulations is required.

This is predominately remote role with occasional in -office meetings in central Ottawa. 4 weeks vacation to start and 100$ of benefits paid by the company. Also an RSP matching program to 3%
