Title of the Job: Vice President Sales, Strategic Accounts

Location: Ottawa, ON

Job Description: Role OverviewThe VP of Sales, Strategic Accounts will be responsible for overseeing the growth and retention of our largest and most strategic clients. The role requires a strong focus on solution selling, with an emphasis on developing deep relationships and ensuring that clients see ongoing value from our products and services. As a key member of the executive team, this leader will collaborate with other senior leaders to align account strategies with overall business goals and growth initiatives.Key Responsibilities

  • Client Retention Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy to retain and grow key client accounts, ensuring consistent engagement and satisfaction.
  • Solution Sales Leadership: Lead the sales strategy for existing clients, focusing on upselling and cross-selling our full suite of technology solutions to drive revenue growth.
  • Executive Client Relationships: Build and maintain high-level relationships with key decision-makers across our clients, ensuring their needs are understood and met.
  • Revenue Growth: Increase wallet share by identifying opportunities for new product sales and ensuring clients fully leverage our solutions to achieve their business objectives. Generate new opportunities to utilize our core competencies leading to potential new products and services.
  • Sales Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of account managers and solution sales professionals, providing strategic direction and ensuring alignment with broader business objectives.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with product development, marketing, and operations to ensure seamless client experiences and the effective delivery of customized solutions.
  • Negotiation & Contract Management: Oversee contract negotiations, renewals, and pricing strategies, ensuring terms are favorable for both the company and clients.
  • Client Advocacy: Serve as the voice of the client within the executive team, advocating for their needs and collaborating on product development or service enhancements.
  • Performance Metrics & Reporting: Track and analyze performance metrics related to client retention, account growth, and overall client satisfaction, reporting to the CEO and executive team regularly.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in B2B solution sales and account management at a senior or executive level, preferably within telecommunications, technology, or SaaS industries.
  • Demonstrated ability to grow large, complex accounts and deliver significant revenue growth through a solution-selling approach.
  • Exceptional leadership skills, with experience managing and developing high-performing sales and account management teams.
  • Strong strategic thinking abilities, with a track record of developing and executing client retention and growth strategies.
  • Superior communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, particularly with C-level executives and other key decision-makers.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across departments to ensure the best outcomes for clients and the company.
  • Familiarity with CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce) and the ability to leverage data to inform sales strategies and client success initiatives.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, evolving environment, with a focus on driving results and exceeding expectations.
