Job Description: OverviewHexagon’s Autonomy & Positioning division, is looking for a Hardware Verification Designer to join the team and play an essential role in our high-tech engineering and manufacturing company that is committed to customer service excellence and continuous improvement. In this role, you will ensure our products meet stringent reliability, robustness, regulatory, environmental, and safety requirements. This is a hands-on role which involves a thorough understanding of hardware requirements, design documents, test requirements, product regulations and test equipment. You will be required to prepare test plans, document procedures, provide testing and organize your workload to ensure the timely and accurate execution of complex plans with internal and external test facilities. This position is based in Calgary, Alberta.ResponsibilitiesAs our Hardware Verification Designer, responsibilities include:
- Plan, execute and manage the hardware verification activities for projects, including the creation of test plans, test procedures, test records and reports
- Engage with external test laboratories to provide test services that accurately deliver on time and on budget
- Understand hardware requirements, design documents and develop comprehensive test strategies, procedures and plans that ensure validation to the system requirements
- Provide hardware testing for electrical, mechanical, environmental and regulatory performance at the system and component levels
- Provide EMC, EMI & RF test qualification expertise
- Work continuously to learn and improve our processes
QualificationsMust-Have:
- Technology diploma or engineering degree from a recognized institution
- Excellent communication skills, teamwork skills and work habits
- Proficiency with MS Office programs and computer skills
- Ability to travel internationally and domestically, typically 5% -10% of time
Key Success Factors:
- Problem solver, self-motivated and enjoy learning
- Strong attention to details and excel at documenting your observations
Nice-to-Have:
- Knowledge of GPS/GNSS
- Experience programming or scripting i.e. Python
- Experience working in larger dynamic teams and organizations
- Experience with ISO 17025, ISO 16949 , ISO 14001
