Job Description: Job DescriptionPlease submit your resume directly to Kevin Pedersen via email at .The Opportunity – A 12 to 18 month contract positionOur client, an Alberta-based supplier for oil and gas E&P companies, is seeking a dedicated Vendor Management Specialist, based in Calgary, to focus on optimizing supply chain partnerships and overseeing vendor-related expenses. In this role, you will identify, negotiate with, and manage vendors for their manufacturing operations and delivery services as well as ongoing construction projects. This job is an office-based role in downtown Calgary. Optional work-from-home Fridays.Key Account Responsibilities and Functions
- Source and assess new vendors for sand manufacturing and delivery services.
- Manage scope and compliance with a range of vendors from logistics services provider to building trade and engineering services.
- Negotiate and formalize long-term contracts with vendors.
- Implement a tracking system for vendor spend across daily operations and projects.
- Conduct audits to evaluate vendor performance in quality, timing, safety, pricing accuracy, and overall support.
- Analyze market trends and monitor the competitive landscape to ensure optimal value for products and services.
- Collaborate with the operations team to maintain effective inventory controls.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Degree or Technical Diploma.
- 3+ years of experience in a similar role.
- Designation or current enrollment in a Contract Management or Supply Chain Management program (e.g., IACCM, SCMA, CSCMP, ISM, APICS).
- Lean or Six Sigma training is an asset.
- Effective negotiation and communication abilities.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities.
- Ability to navigate a complex, fast-paced environment with integrity and professionalism.
