This exciting opportunity involves both emergency and elective vascular surgeries, providing comprehensive care to a diverse patient population.As part of our team, you will have regular access to operating rooms for both scheduled and urgent procedures, ensuring the highest standard of care for patients in critical need.Key Responsibilities:
- Perform a wide range of vascular surgeries, including emergency and elective procedures.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Maintain a full caseload of vascular surgery patients, providing excellent pre- and post-operative care.
- Participate in on-call rotations for emergency surgeries.
- Engage in ongoing education and stay current with advances in vascular surgery techniques and technologies.
- Contribute to Richmond Hospital’s mission of providing patient-centered, high-quality care.

It is a teaching hospital affiliated with the University of British Columbia and has a Level 3 trauma centre classification in its Emergency Department.The hospital has a wide range of medical services for the community including a diabetic centre, cancer clinic, exercise stress testing, pulmonary function lab, polysomnography lab, cardiac and respiratory rehabilitation, EEG, EMG, medical clinics and a vibrant research program. Patients are supported by the availability of a closed ICU, a high acuity unit, an ACE unit (acute care for the elderly) and palliative care unit. The hospital is in the design stage for a new acute care tower which will bring 100 new acute beds to the hospital by 2026.QualificationsEducation, Licensing, & Experience:
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)- Desired
- Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS)- Desired
- Current College of Physicians of BC (CPSBC)- Mandatory
- Canadian College of Family Practitioners (CCFP) – Emergency Medicine- Mandatory
- Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada (FRCPC) – Mandatory
- Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada (FRCSC)- Mandatory
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PAL)- Desired
- Surgical Skills- Mandatory
