The company’s latest LED volume work includes House of the Dragon, Star Trek: Discovery and Star Trek: Strange New Worlds and Netflix’s upcoming Avatar: The Last Airbender.PXO has seven studios and three LED volumes in the US, UK, Germany and Canada.Pixomondo is seeking an experienced VAD Supervisor to oversee in-house environment and content creation. This role is pivotal in ensuring that the work of our artists aligns with the ambitious visions of our clients, maintaining a forward-thinking and visually stunning output.RequirementsKey Responsibilities:

  • Interpret and translate ideas communicated by the Director and Key Creatives into photo references, concept art, and storyboards in collaboration with design teams.
  • Work closely with PXO’s internal Virtual Production and VFX Supervisors as well as external clients to realize concepts and visions within Unreal Engine.
  • Develop and manage CG assets from concept art, ensuring design continuity throughout the production process.
  • Collaborate with leadership to ensure alignment of work with the specifications provided by the Director and Key Creatives.
  • Build, texture, and light photoreal environments within Unreal Engine, utilizing its comprehensive suite of world-building tools, including Megascans, blueprints, shaders, lighting, and particle effects.
  • Optimize real-time scenes across various workflows, including modeling, texturing, rigging, animation, shading, lighting, and particle effects.
  • Contribute to the development of real-time pipelines and stay informed about the latest tools and processes available in Unreal Engine.
  • Supervise and manage the delivery milestones of VAD content creation teams.
  • Communicate directly with Stage Operations Team to ensure the assets are properly optimized.
  • Have a basic understanding of cinematographic language.
  • Engage in brainstorming creative ideas and solutions with meticulous attention to detail and craftsmanship.
  • Continuously seek improvements in pipelines, technical processes, and creative methodologies.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5+ years of experience in the game or film industry, with a focus on asset and environment creation.
  • Proven experience in developing photorealistic assets, encompassing both organic and hard-surface environments.
  • Proven knowledge in all of the following software packages :
  • Photoshop
  • Maya
  • Unreal Engine
  • Nuke
  • Zbrush
  • Substance Painter
  • Familiarity with the import/export processes to Unreal Engine at both Static Mesh and Skeletal Mesh levels.
  • Experience with photogrammetry asset processes and cleanup.
  • Strong understanding of Unreal Engine workflows, including blueprints, metahuman, procedural assets, and level sequencer.
  • Knowledge of Perforce workflows.
  • Understanding of filmmaking and film language.
  • Demonstrated capability to render imaginative scenes with minimal or no reference.
  • Solid comprehension of the anatomy and motion of both organic and mechanical forms.
  • On-set experience a plus.
  • A portfolio or reel showcasing work as a lead artist or supervisor at a major VFX or gaming studio, including clear examples of contributions.
