This national team has earned an exceptional reputation through its successful delivery of multidisciplinary infrastructure projects in Canada.ResponsibilitiesAct as lead designer for small and medium sized engineering assignments, with intent to develop skills towards a future project manager/technical lead role for larger projectsAttend site visits related to pre-design information gathering, construction and postconstruction reviewCoordinate work with other disciplines including highway/road, electrical, drainage and environmental planningAnalysis, evaluate appropriate design solutions and design of transportation structures including bridges, culverts, retaining walls and foundationDirect CAD team for drawing preparation and review deliverables prior to submission to clientPrepare and review technical reports, tender documents and cost estimateProvide tender evaluations and/or construction engineering servicesWork within assigned project budgets and schedulesMentor junior staff with regards to project workQualifications:B.ASc. or B.Eng. in Civil/Structural Engineering, with strong interest and experience in structures, particularly bridges.P.Eng. status and minimum 4 years of proven experience in design using Canadian codes and design standards.Interest in working both in the office and the field environmentAbility to perform outdoor physical duties while doing bridge inspection workValid Ontario driver’s license and access to a vehicleStrong computer skills, including experience with CAD and SAP2000, CSiBridge, SFRAMEExcellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong, interpersonal and presentation skillsAble to work in a team environment and excel in both bridge and multi-disciplined projectsOrganized and detail-orientedAbility to mentor technical development of othersWorks well with minimal direct supervisionExercises independent judgment.Job Type: RegularJob Profile: For internal use Transportation Structural Engineering IIIMorrison Hershfield, now Stantec is committed to having an inclusive and diverse workforce, with recruitment free of discrimination, ensuring all candidates are given a fair opportunity for employment.
