Job Description: SalaryThe salary range for this position is CAD $32.81/Hr. – CAD $32.81/Hr.SummaryReporting to the Manager, Food Services or designate, the Support Services Supervisor

  • Ensure diet orders comply with nutritional care provisions for inpatients and outpatients using nutrition software.
  • Serve as the liaison between Clinical Nutrition and Food Services.
  • Conduct nutritional screening for malnutrition risk and obtain diet-related information from patients/residents.
  • Identify patient food preferences, tolerances, and acceptance; chart diet-related activities in patient medical records.
  • Input and update patient diet information in a computerized system.
  • Supervise environmental services staff and maintain manual and computerized records such as staffing schedules.
  • Oversee day-to-day environmental services, ensuring standards are met through quality assurance activities.
  • Perform related administrative duties to support environmental services.
  • Promote and maintain strong customer relations and communication with all staff levels.
  • Participate in quality assurance activities to maintain environmental and service standards.

What You BringEducation
Graduation from a recognized two-year program in Food Service Supervision plus one year’s recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Food Safe Certificate 1.Skills and Abilities

Your Day to Day:

  • Supervise designated staff by preparing schedules, coordinating work assignments, and evaluating performance.
  • Visit patients/family during meal rounds to ensure food aligns with nutritional plans and preferences, and act as liaison between Clinical Nutrition and Food Services.
  • Conduct computerized nutritional analysis of menus, recipes, and food records.
  • Participate in Quality Assurance Program by conducting audits, inspections, and providing input for menu revisions.
  • Perform cooking duties, oversee meal preparation, and assist in menu planning according to nutritional needs.
  • Conduct inspections of housekeeping and cleaning duties to ensure quality and adherence to standards.
  • Ensure compliance with sanitation and safety procedures, conducting inspections and initiating corrective action when needed.
  • Manage equipment maintenance by notifying the Manager/Coordinator of required servicing.
  • Estimate, order, and maintain inventory of food and cleaning supplies, resolving discrepancies with suppliers.
  • Maintain employee records, process timekeeping, and manage relief staff scheduling and vacation requests.
