(employee will be working with or have access to children or vulnerable adults and requires a Criminal Record Check)YesJob DescriptionIn accordance with the Vision, Purpose, and Values, and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority, patient safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone at VIHA; as such, the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.Reporting to the Manager or designate, and as part of a multidisciplinary health care team, the Supervisor, Electrodiagnostic Services, oversees the electrodiagnostic (EDS) and cardiology technologist testing procedure services, including supervision of designated EDS and cardiology technologist staff, planning and coordination of day to day activities, maintenance and operation of equipment, and assisting staff. Scheduling and oversight of Cardiology Technology Practicum students. Using a personal computer and related software, performs database functions as required. Acts as a liaison between doctors or nursing with EDS department at VGH, RJH and SPH in Island Health south IslandQUALIFICATIONS:Education, Training And ExperienceCompletion of a recognized Cardiology Technologist program at the diploma level. Certified as a Cardiology Technologist with the Canadian Society of Cardiology Technologists (CSCT). A Bachelor’s degree preferred and five years recent, related experience, including supervisory experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.Skills And Abilities
