Location: Vancouver, BC

Job Description: POSITION SUMMARY:The ideal candidate profile for this position is someone who thrives in a dynamic, fast paced and changing environment; enjoys a challenge; possesses a strong customer service focus and a “can do” attitude; and, instinctively knows who his or her target audience is and how to effectively “speak” to that demographic.Reporting to the Financial Analyst, the incumbent assists in all phases of collection of outstanding accounts to achieve the common goal of accurate student account processing by maintaining accurate recordkeeping and the lowest Accounts Receivable possible in compliance with the accepted accounting policies and practices of LaSalle College Vancouver.This is a 100% onsite position with fixed hours from 8:30 am to 5pm, 3 days a week.RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Regularly review open accounts for overdue payments and perform collection efforts
  • Make professional outbound collection calls and communicate via phone and email to collect payments
  • Ensure students make payments on time in accordance with agreed schedules
  • Work with the finance and other departments to support collection efforts and identify issues causing delinquency
  • Track assigned accounts and provide timely follow-ups on payment arrangements.
  • Manage both in-school and out-of-school receivables, providing regular updates and reports
  • Maintain a weekly analysis of Accounts Receivables, working with reports to assess month-to-month performance
  • Perform other related duties, as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Diploma in Accounting or a related field
  • 3 to 5 years’ relevant experience in account receivables
  • Experience in Higher Education would be an asset
  • Strong Excel skills as well as exposure to more concentrated financial software programs
  • Superior organizational, problem solving and prioritization skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a range of populations
  • Effective team and partnering skills
  • Mathematical skills of a sufficient level to support student account reconciliations and refunds, preparation of daily bank deposits and working with numbers
