Clinical guidance/instruction is available from the Senior Speech Language Pathologist.Travel may be a requirement of this position. Transportation arrangements must meet the operational requirements of the Vancouver Island Health Authority in accordance with the service assignment and may require the use of a personal vehicle; and Valid BC Driver’s License.QUALIFICATIONS:Education, Training And ExperienceCurrent licensure in a practicing category with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC as a Speech Language Practitioner. Master’s degree from an accredited school of Speech Pathology and Audiology. Two years previous experience working with children who have multiple disabilities and communication disorders.Skills And Abilities

  • Ability to independently organize and plan treatment programs, set priorities, and to work with parents and other professional disciplines as part of a team.
  • Ability to train and monitor others to deliver SLP programs.
  • Ability to be perceptive to the needs of children and families and able to act accordingly with tact, patience, and optimism.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in written and oral English.
  • Ability to interact effectively with children with disabilities, families, fellow employees, and the general public.
