Job Description: Specialist, Electronic Medical Records – Health Services Transformation TeamHealth Services, Health Strategy, Planning and Partnerships (HSPP)Status: Contract Full Time, 13 month durationSalary Range: $89,469 to $111,834 per annum + comprehensive benefitsWork Mode: Hybrid*see below for more details about this work modeLocation: 7120 Hurontario Street, MississaugaHours of work: 35 hours per weekWho we are: Reporting to the Manager or Advisor, Health Strategy, Planning and Partnerships (HSPP), this position works collaboratively with internal clients and stakeholders in the development and implementation of strategic, business and operational plans for platforms supporting Electronic Medical Records (EMR) including other strategic initiatives across the Health Services department.What you will do in this role:
- Provide expert advice and guidance about EMR strategic, business and operational planning across Health Services
- Provide guidance in the development of methodologies for EMR strategic, business improvement and operational planning
- Facilitate teams across the Department through strategic, business and operational planning initiatives including transformation and process improvement
- Work with teams across Health Services to develop plans to make decisions and drive change
- Work closely with relevant stakeholders and EMR service providers to align methodologies and client initiatives, and to provide a consistent approach to broader performance management
- Build and strengthen positive relationships with internal customers, corporate and broader stakeholders
- Ensure all phases of project delivery are performed within standards, timeframes, scope and budget requirements and that project risk is managed
- Support the integration of planning into existing business practices within the Health Services department
- Raise awareness, desire, knowledge and use of electronic health records platforms to ensure optimal efficiency and integration across the department
- Keep abreast of best practices in strategic, business and operational planning and build these practices into established methodologies and client work
- Build capacity across the Health Services department through training, education, facilitation and sharing of best practices to use strategic, business and operational planning to inform performance management and decision-making
- Support on-going work to configure and resolve complex system issues related to digital health platforms medical record systems such as TELUS Collaborative Health Record, AlayaCare, etc.
- Implement complex system changes, integration, improvements and any configuration needed and manage associated communication with stakeholders Participate in the design and implementation of a planning and performance management system for Health Services
- Interprets and analyzes complex information to provide strategic recommendations and reports that will guide policy, programming and operational decisions
- Prepare complex and specialized documentation, reports, presentations and analysis
- Work closely with the Corporate Services to align corporate and departmental strategic goals/outcomes and progress (performance) reporting
- Liaise with external vendors as required
- Maintain ongoing focus on achieving broader health services outcomes while meeting internal customer needs
- Stay current on relevant trends and priorities across the Public and Healthcare sectors in Ontario
- Provide work direction, advice and mentoring within HSPP as required
What the role requires:A degree in Health Administration, Health Informatics, Business Administration or Public AdministrationMinimum of 5 years’ experience with project management, change management, analysis and interpretation, facilitation, client relationship management and/or consultation * Highly proficient understanding in health informatics and supporting, configuration of various platform for electronic health records (e.g. TELUS Collaborative Health Record, AlayaCare , etc.)
- Combination of education and experience may be considered
