Job Description: Requisition ID: 209019Join a purpose driven winning team, committed to results, in an inclusive and high-performing culture.Purpose of JobThe Specialist, Corporate Banking Services is the primary officer responsible for servicing the highest valued Corporate Clients of the Bank with their business accounts, cash management, electronic banking services and credit facilities within Business Banking Operations. The incumbent is expected to act in the capacity of a Relationship Manager, within the Business Banking Operations and own the client service experience by providing knowledgeable and accurate information, identify and recommend solutions, and be accountable for managing escalations relating to the client to ensure resolution in a timely and effective manner. The Specialist provides consistent, prompt, professional and effective service to a portfolio of Corporate client..Is this role right for you? In this role you will:
- Provide an excellent client experience by:
- Primary point of contact for service, maintenance, escalations and resolving complex client inquiries for the Corporate portfolio with a thorough understanding of the connections and unique service requirements.
- Primary lead working with Global Transaction Banking and other internal departments to effectively, timely and accurately onboard new connections or additions to existing relationships, including active participant in client meetings.
- Accurate preparation of documents and system input for bank accounts, cash management and electronic banking products relating to new or existing clients.
- Administer credit changes by liaising with Corporate Banking to ensure correct documents/collateral are in place, or where applicable, prepare documentation/forms that conform to the credit authorizations on file and ensure authorized credits, signing authority and pricing is executed accurately.
- Develop and maintain an excellent knowledge and understanding of Global Transaction Banking products, services, and pricing.
- Maintaining accurate and thorough client files, documents, and records.
- Adherence to established Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and escalation protocol.
- Participation in the growth and profitability of the Corporate Banking portfolio by being attentive to new/or expanded business opportunities and recommending or appropriately referring clients to business partners.
- Active participation in huddles/meeting to help foster a high performing culture within the Corporate Banking Services team.
- Ensuring strict adherence to Bank security and control procedures for customer information, data, access to systems and documents by:
- Adhering to all compliance policies and guidelines including Privacy, AML/Anti-Terrorist & KYC policies.
- Following department guidelines for the storage, access, and delivery of client/Bank documents.
- Ensuring authentication of clients prior to the release of information.
- Identifying and escalating unusual occurrences, fraudulent activities, issues/deficiencies/trends to People Manager.
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We’d love to work with you if you have:
- Post-Secondary Education or a minimum of 2 years of relevant working experience in Financial Services or related industry
- Proven customer service and communication skills, with ability to prioritize.
- Strong Communication (written & verbal) and Organizational Skills
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Teams, Excel, Word, and Outlook)
- Experience in Business Banking Operations, Global Transaction Banking Global Wholesale Operations, Retail Banking or Business Banking are an asset.

- Corporate Banking Services support Scotiabank’s Corporate client segment.
- Ability to manage several priorities often with a high degree of urgency.
- Daily involvement with business credit/accounts and Cash Management suite as it applies to policies & procedures, products & services.
- Implementation in the setup and execution of accounts, products & services, and loan/funding.
- Works very well within a team atmosphere but can work independently.
- High levels of accuracy and thoroughness are required to prepare, review and execute client documentation.
- Analytical thinking required to resolve complex problems, issues and determine appropriate solutions and resolutions.
- Ability to communicate issues and concerns effectively and concisely.
- Excellent time management skills required to satisfy the needs of Our Corporate client segment, often with competing priorities and timelines.
- Ability to build relationships and establish trust.
- Thorough knowledge of related regulatory requirements (such as FATCA, AML, KYC, CDIC, and Privacy legislation).
- Thorough knowledge/use of Bank’s internal systems (such as AS400, PEGA, GPI, DMT, FFT, Emulation (TKS), MS Office, MS Teams).
