The authentication security team is responsible for building and maintaining the authentication services for Workday. An average of 3 billion transactions are processed by our services per week. If so, this role might be for you! You will collaborate with product management to gather the product requirements and break them down into pieces of technical work. The role will often involve implementation of features around open standards in security and identity like Open ID Connect. Development work will primarily be in programming languages such as Kotlin and Scala. You will also perform code reviews for others and have constructive design conversations about the best way to accomplish a task.About YouYou are a backend developer passionate about developing high quality, scalable enterprise solutions. You are not afraid to ask clarifying questions when things are ambiguous. You are disciplined, methodical, and minimalist in constructing layered software components that can be embedded within larger frameworks or applications. You have a deep understanding about software design and system architecture. You are interested in system security and digital identity. You have proven the ability to build complex systems using industry standards in identity, authentication and web services. You are looking to learn from others while mentoring more junior developers.Basic Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related fields, or equivalent experience3+ years of experience using a source control system like Git, SVN or Mercurial3+ years of experience programming in an object oriented language such as Kotlin and/or ScalaOther Qualifications:Excellent verbal and written communication skillsEnjoys working in a collaborative environmentExperience developing and maintaining a large web applicationExperience with REST API design and securityExperience working on complex software problemsExperience with Jenkins CI/CDWorkday Pay Transparency StatementThe annualized base salary ranges for the primary location and any additional locations are listed below. Workday pay ranges vary based on work location. As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Workday Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus, as well as annual refresh stock grants.
