Title of the Job: Site Superintendent

Location: Vancouver, BC

Job Description: Our client, a leading construction group in the commercial and multi-family residential sectors, is looking for a Site Superintendent who has experience with complex, multi-family residential builds in Vancouver, BC. As Superintendent you are accountable for managing all onsite construction activities. This position works closely with the Project Manager to ensure projects are delivered, efficiently, on schedule and within budget. The individual is required to demonstrate high quality performance and compliance with project standards while maintaining strict safety protocols and reporting. This role will interact with all project stakeholders, understanding the company’s vision and values is crucial.Advantages

  • Safety Leadership, Reporting

o Demonstrate high levels of safety at all times
o Lead meetings and conversations
o Site reporting and inspections
o Visible on-site presence
o Verifying training and certification
o Ensure compliance with site safety standards for employees and contractors

  • Coordinate and supervise all on-site daily construction activities
  • Responsible for QA/QC of all project aspects; pre-construction, course of construction, post-construction
  • Maintain professional relationships with all project stakeholders
  • Review and maintain construction schedules and budgets
  • Schedule inspections and consultant reviews as required
  • Procure materials and equipment
  • Purchasing and receipt submission and coding
  • Employee time entry
  • Communicating and forecasting resource needs
  • Mentor, train, and coach employees
  • Interpret and manage contractual obligations and responsibilities
  • Work alongside the Project Manager to deliver successful outcomes
  • Perform carpentry and general labour as required

Qualifications

  • Contractual/Financial obligations (Mid-level)
  • Scheduling and Planning (Mid-level)
  • Trade Practices and Techniques (Mid-level)
  • Project Stakeholder Collaboration/Interactions (Advanced)
  • Workplace compliance regulations, ordinances, legislation, and building codes (Advanced)
  • Training and mentorship
  • Technology
  • Strong communication Skills, written and verbal
  • 5+M Project Value
  • 10+ years of general contracting experience
  • 5+ year of Superintendent experience
  • 35+ workers onsite
  • Post-Secondary education in relevant discipline
