Job Description: ShiftKey is a non-profit organization based in the Faculty of Computer Science at Dalhousie which is responsible for extensive extra-curricular programming for Computer Science students. Reporting to the ShiftKey Manager, the Program Coordinator will be responsible for all aspects of the design, development, execution and evaluation of all ShiftKey Academy programming and events including extra-curricular programming focused on skill development through certifications, workshops and courses.
Key Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with the ShiftKey Manager and partners to develop a robust program portfolio including the development of new programs and activities.
- Identify new partners or opportunities to enhance ShiftKey’s capabilities in expanding our programming.
- Manage various projects, including the planning, organization and execution of Academy events and programs.
- Represent ShiftKey at relationship building events (networking events, conferences, student engagement activities, etc.)
- Coordinate communications & marketing for ShiftKey programs.
- Support the ShiftKey Manager in administrative tasks, such as program budgeting, data collection and management, etc.
NoteThe successful applicant will be eligible for hybrid work (combination of in-person work on campus and remote work) as agreed by all parties based on operational requirements and university guidelines.
Required Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree with approximately two years’ experience in a coordinator role (or an equivalent combination of training and experience).
- A high degree of organizational skill, interpersonal acumen and problem-solving ability is required to provide oversight in balancing the many responsibilities related to this role.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, and an enthusiasm for working with students.
- Must be able to work both independently, as well as part of a team, and be proactive.
Assets
- Demonstrated event planning and marketing experience.
- Preference will be given to applicants who have experience working in the tech industry of Nova Scotia (in a technical or project management role).
- A proven interest and understanding of trends and needs in computer science.
