Focuses on debates and empirical studies on global production networks (GPNs), and associated issues such as offshoring, outsourcing, and upgrading. Blends analysis of both theory and practice of business firms and regional development. Seeks to develop an in-depth understanding of the key actors driving contemporary global economic transformation, within the ‘transnational space’ constituted and structured by transnational firms, state institutions, and ideologies.Estimate of course enrollment: 60Estimate of TA Support: 60Class Schedule: Mondays, 5:00 to 7:00pmSessional dates of appointment: January 1, 2025 – April 30, 2025Salary: Sessional Lecturer I – $9,457.89. Sessional Lecturer I Long-term – $9,930.79. Sessional Lecturer II – $10,121.76. Sessional Lecturer II Long-term – $10,326.61; Sessional Lecturer III – $10,362.76. Sessional Lecturer III Long-term – $10,570.02Please note that should rates stipulated in the collective agreement vary from rates stated in this posting, the rates stated in the collective agreement shall prevail.Minimum Qualifications: A PhD in Geography or a related field is required. Knowledge of the course topics is required.Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience teaching preferred.
