Job Description: Job Description:HM Note: This remote part-time role is approximately 30 hours per week and the contractor must work within Canada for data security reasons and attend any scheduled onsite meetings in Victoria BC (once in 2-3 months.). All profiles must include a minimum of two (2) business references for applicable projects and the project commences September 16, 2024Description:The ServiceNow Lead Technical Architect will support the improvement and modernization of the service management practice at Service Management Branch. Accounting for known architectural technical debt, this role will lead the analysis and creation of a future state architectural design for the platform. The work will include identifying the various initiatives required to transform from the current design to the target state. In support of improving the service management practice, this role will also help setup architectural governance and architectural principles to drive future decision-making.The ServiceNow Lead Technical Architect will be responsible for:Architecture Review and Future State Design:

  • Leverage the existing architectural review reports and conduct a thorough analysis of the current ServiceNow solution architecture.
  • Design a new future state architecture that aligns with best practices and organizational goals.
  • Identify and document technical debt and develop strategies to eliminate it.
  • Develop a detailed roadmap of initiatives to transition from the current state to the future state

CSDM Implementation:

  • Support the design of the Common Service Data Model (CSDM) implementation.
  • Identify and address technical changes required to the CMDB and other areas to support the CSDM implementation
  • Assist with the definition and documentation of the CSDM standards and best practices.
  • Ensure the alignment of CSDM implementation with overall architectural goals

Center of Excellence (CoE) Establishment:

  • Provide leadership and guidance on the establishment of a Center of Excellence (CoE) for ServiceNow within Service Management Branch.
  • Develop CoE processes, governance structures, and operating models.
  • Establish the CoE roles and responsibilities.
  • Oversee the CoE in its early stages, providing mentorship and coaching to other staff.

Architecture Leadership and Mentorship:

  • Provide overall technical architecture leadership for the ServiceNow platform.
  • Mentor and guide internal staff on managing a Center of Excellence in a ServiceNow environment.
  • Conduct training sessions and workshops to enhance internal staff capabilities.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the team.

Design and Development:

  • Provide review and support on the design of ServiceNow solutions.
  • Develop and maintain complex workflows, business rules, UI policies, ACLs, script includes, and other advanced ServiceNow configurations.
  • Ensure that all solutions are scalable, secure, and align with best practices and industry standards.

QualificationsThe Senior ServiceNow Technical Architect is required to have the following skills and experience:Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 10 years experience in IT architecture, with a focus on the ServiceNow platform.
  • Extensive experience with ServiceNow solution architecture, including ITSM, ITOM, ITAM.
  • Previous experience in leading and managing complex ServiceNow solution development.
  • Proven track record of designing and implementing future state architectures.
  • Strong knowledge of Common Service Data Model (CSDM) and its implementation.
  • Experience in establishing and managing a Centre of Excellence or Architectural Board.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in JavaScript, HTML, CSS, AngularJS, and other web development technologies.
  • Experience with ServiceNow integrations using REST, SOAP, and other integration technologies.
  • Expert skills in Powershell o Expert skills in Server & Infrastructure technologies o Experience with Azure, AWS, and cloud providers with ServiceNow
  • Familiarity with ITIL and other IT service management frameworks.
  • Familiarity with ServiceNow’s licensing model

Leadership Skills:

  • Proven ability to lead and mentor a team of developers.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.

Certifications:

  • ServiceNow Certified Application Developer.
  • ServiceNow Certified System Administrator.
  • Additional ServiceNow certifications (e.g., ITOM, ITSM, ITAM).
  • Ideal candidates will have one of: Certified Workflow Architect, Certified Technical Architect, or Certified Master Architect.
