Job Description: Overview:
As a Senior Technician – Structured cabling; you will play a crucial role in the design, installation, and maintenance of structured cabling systems for our clients. You will lead a team of technicians and oversee the planning and execution of cabling projects, ensuring adherence to industry standards and best practices. Your expertise in structured cabling, along with your leadership abilities, will contribute to the successful delivery of high-quality solutions that meet our clients’ requirements.What you will be doing:Lead a team of structured cabling technicians in the installation, termination, and testing of copper and fiber optic cabling systemsCollaborate with project managers and engineers to develop project plans and timelines.Conduct site surveys and assess requirements for cabling projectsDocument structured cabling systems based on industry standards and client specifications.Install, terminate, and test copper and fiber optic cables, connectors, and related componentsTroubleshoot and resolve issues with cabling systems, including signal quality, connectivity, and performanceEnsure compliance with relevant codes, regulations, and safety guidelinesProvide technical guidance and training to junior techniciansMaintain accurate documentation of cabling installations, including labeling, diagrams, and test resultsCollaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate cabling systems with other network infrastructure componentsPerform additional duties as requiredWhat you must have:5+ years of experience in structured cabling installation and maintenanceIn-depth knowledge of industry standards and best practices for copper and fiber optic cabling systemsProficiency in interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and diagramsExperience leading and managing a team of cabling techniciansStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsFamiliarity with testing equipment and tools used in structured cablingExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneouslyRelevant certifications (e.g., BICSI, CFOT, Specific Manufacturer training) are a plusValid driver’s license and ability to travel to client sites as required
