Job Description: Senior Technical Project Manager – 2403452Toronto, ONThe Senior Technical Project Manager will be responsible for providing technical support and guidance on a variety of projects and strategic initiatives. This includes but is not limited to; technology optimization, product and technology integration, operational projects, and more. The Senior Technical Project Manager will also be responsible for managing project timelines, cost estimates, key product decisions, and strategic direction.Role Responsibilities
- Provide support and guidance for market research, VOC, competitive analysis, etc.
- Provide technical guidance and support for defining product strategy, project requirements, and high-level prioritization of product development activities
- Create a framework and culture that promotes research, data-based decisions, and calculated risk-taking, and encourages creativity and collaboration among teams
- Provide technical guidance and support for key product/project decisions related to unit cost, tooling commitment, test results, product approval, and more
- Present and educate commercial partners and prospective customers on new products, technology, and technical benefits of product offerings
- Provide technical guidance and support to internal teams on technology and product benefits
- Oversee and guide the product launch process, ensuring a smooth transition and hand-off to required teams including Supply Chain, Marketing, and Sales
- Provide technical support on strategic projects and initiatives related to corporate objectives, customer requests/requirements, and operational improvements (internally and externally)
- Other duties, as assigned
RequirementsFormal Education or Equivalent
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or other related field
Years of Experience
- A minimum of 8 years of experience as a Senior Product Manager or Product Designer/Engineer in the Vape, E-cigarette, Cannabis, or other related industries
Competencies
- Proficiency in project management, including the ability to manage timelines, estimate costs, and hold teams accountable for deliverables
- Proactive engagement in staying current with industry best practices and trends, new product and technology developments, and more
- Building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, such as investors, customers, suppliers, and regulatory bodies
- Strong decision-making skills, especially in key product/project areas like unit cost, tooling commitment, and product approval
- Capacity to make calculated risks and data-based decisions
Specialized Skills, Knowledge, or Certifications Unique to This Role
- In-depth understanding of product management principles, methodologies, and best practices
- Experience in overseeing the entire product lifecycle from ideation to launch
- Strong market research skills to guide decision-making based on customer needs, industry trends, and competitive landscape
