We Currently have a long term, renewable contract as a Systems Team Lead with our IT consulting client that primarily supports North American clients on various website and backend infrastructure services.Role(s) Required: Senior System AdministratorLocation: Remote (anywhere in Canada/USA/South America , but must be able to work on EST with the Canadian team)Required Start Date: ASAPRequired End Date: 12 months + renewable every yearType: ContractTotal Hours Approved Per Role: 40h/weekRate: $39 – 41/hr C2C CDN ( approximately $60,000 – $62,000 USD)Client Location: US/CanadaSummary:Reporting directly to the System Team Lead. This Senior System Admin is responsible for the overall technical management, operations, ongoingmaintenance and support of our large-scale production websites and networks.Role:o Management and support of LAMP environmento Maintain vendor relationships, as required, for technical infrastructure of office and website systems.o Work directly with the Development Team Leads and Project Management in managing projects for the website and provide final sign-off/approval for release to production.o Working directly with Senior Management, participate in planning and project discussions for various websites.o Analyze and assess areas of risk to systems and recommend/implement changes as appropriate to the business.o Continuously assess network and systems security, ensuring a high level of systems data security is maintained overall. Report concerns directly to the Senior System Team Leado Perform systems and network architectural design for the sites network, including capacity planning, hardware, infrastructure, software integration, OS and software performance tuning.o Act as single point of escalation of production issues, interfacing with required resources to see issues are resolved in a timely manner.o Effectively manage risk, including monitoring, system redundancy and backups based on business requirements and acceptable risk.o Provide technical assistance and consultation as required to all areas of the company, including Project Management, Sales, Quality Assurance, Accounting, Customer Service, Development and Systems departments.o Perform special tasks and projects company-wide, as assigned by the Team Lead.Responsibilities:o Managing a large, dsitributed LAMP environmento Facilitate problem solving and collaboration, ensure discussions and make decisions that lead toward closure, intervene when necessary to aid the team in resolving issues.o Be part of on-call rotation (12pm 8pm EST, 1-week duration every 4 weeks).o Other duties as assigned.Job Requirements:o 5+ years of experience with LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP)o Minimum of 2+ years of management/leadership experience in a technology oriented organization required.o Must be well versed supporting web serverso Strong background with storage SAN (NFS and iSCSI)o Well versed with ELK stack (Elasticsearch, Kibana, Beats, and Logstash)o Adding/removing nodes, expand clusters, rebuilt clusters, , use InfluxDBo TCP/IP knowledge BGP and OSPFo Hands-on experience working with Linux in a Systems Administrative roleo Hands-on experience working with Advanced Network Administrative roleincluding routing, switching and securityo Exceptional problem determination and creative problem solving skillso Strong written and verbal skillso Strong understanding of software development lifecycleo Strong documentation and organizational practiceso Extensive experience with many of these:o MySQL, maintenance and troubleshootingo LAN/WAN/VPN setup and troubleshootingo Linux-based and other firewall technologyo Cloud technologies (OpenStack, oVirt, RHEV or similar)o Baremetal hardware, SAN, Switching and Load-balancingo Backup technologieso Systems securityo Automation systems (Ansible, Puppet or equivalent)o Expertise with multiple Web technologies including but not limited to:HTTP, SSL, DNS and SMTP protocols.
