As a Senior Firewall Security Specialist, you will build, deliver, maintain, and improve the Bank’s firewalls and web proxy technologies. This includes helping implement, maintain, enhance, and integrate all aspects of the Bank’s technology firewalls and web proxy solutions. You will also support testing of new integrations for infrastructure and security across on-premises and Cloud technologies.More specifically, you will:

  • As a Senior member, initiate work with stakeholders to establish requirements and priorities for firewalls and web proxy rules
  • Provide development, implementation, and support services for the automation and scripting of rule implementation
  • Develop and improve deployment and operations support documentation
  • Be a key member for security incidents, investigations, root-cause analysis and support real-time tools development to ensure firewalls and web proxy solutions are working as expected
  • Establish productive relationships with vendors to ensure continued support and value for the Bank
  • Act as a mentor and coach to other Firewall Security Specialists within the team

We are looking for team members who are curious and critical thinkers, who enjoy digging deeper into problems and always questioning the “why.” You are also a great teammate, have excellent communications skills, and are a self-starter by nature.In addition, you have

  • 7+ years’ experience as a Firewall Security Specialist (or similar role)
  • In-depth experience in managing and supporting firewalls and troubleshooting network issues, dynamic routing and related technologies
  • Experience with implementing cloud-based secure web gateway (SWG) and CASB solutions.
  • Experience with protecting workloads in a Hybrid or Public Cloud.
  • Knowledge of solutions used for secure application delivery such as Web Application Firewalls (WAF), IPS and DDoS.
  • Knowledge of modern network security architectures including software-defined infrastructure (SDI) and Micro Segmentation

Assets

  • Experience with IT Security Risk Management
  • Scripting experience with provisioning and automating infrastructure changes
  • Experience with configuring remote access (VPN), network access control (NAC) and Zero Trust architecture.
  • Any relevant Cyber Security and industry certifications (Checkpoint, Cisco, CISSP, etc..)
  • Experience with Process and Workflow Optimization (Lean, etc.)
  • Quality and Problem Management (SixSigma, ITIL, etc.)
  • Establishing Performance Indicators and Dashboards for Operations

Your education and experience
Your combined education and work experience demonstrate that you have the competencies and skills for the position. We are ideally seeking candidates with a bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or another related discipline.What you need to know

  • Language requirement: English or French essential
  • Priority will be given to Canadian citizens and permanent residents
  • Security level required: Be eligible to obtain Secret

  • Salaries are based on qualifications and experience and typically range from $106,739 to $125,575 (job grade 17)
  • The Bank offers an incentive for successfully meeting expectations at 7 to 10% of your base salary. The Bank offers additional performance pay (5%) for those who exceed expectations. Exceptional performers who far exceed expectations may be eligible for higher performance pay.
