Job Description: Job SummaryJob DescriptionWhat is the opportunity?As part of the CAO team in Compliance, the Compliance Operational Risk Senior Manager is responsible for leading execution of the Operational Risk requirements within the Regulatory Compliance function and maintaining a Satisfactory program status ensuring alignment with the Enterprise Operational Risk Framework, Policy and Standards. The Senior Manager also provides Operational Risk related support and advisory to regional/segment Compliance team members and engages with GRM Advisory & Oversight.**Please note this is a 6 month contract (or possible secondment) positionWhat will you do?

  • Coordinate engagement of Segment/Regional Compliance teams and key Functional Stakeholders to support risk-prioritized Risk and Control Self-Assessments(s) that are applicable for the Regulatory Compliance function.
  • Develop and maintain schedules of operational risk related activities across the Compliance function regions to ensure activities are completed when required and on-time.
  • Prepare Operational Risk reports outlining Compliance’s Key Risk Indicators at the global and regional/segment level and the alignment of those metrics with the key risks/controls.
  • Implement a centrally-coordinated Operational Risk Event management process for Regulatory Compliance; work closely with Regional/Segment Compliance teams to ensure centralized reporting, identification of root cause issues, and the execution and closure of the action items identified.
  • Report on Operational Risk deficiencies, issues, and loss events identified by the regional/segment/functional Compliance representatives.
  • Monitor, maintain and update Compliance-specific Operational Risk Standards/Procedure documents to align with RBC’s enterprise-wide policies.
  • Provide advisory support and training to ensure RBC employees understand and adhere to policy requirements.

What do you need to succeed?

  • 5-7+ years of relevant experience
  • Financial services and compliance/operational risk management experience
  • A solid understanding of Operational Risk taxonomy
  • Understanding of/ experience in OSFI E-21 regulatory requirements
  • Project/change management experience
  • Strong leadership, communication (written and verbal) and presentation skills
  • Ability to work independently, and with senior stakeholders
