This role will report to the Vice-President, Finance and is instrumental to the success of both the Finance function as well as the Operations teams. The Senior Manager will also collaborate with key stakeholders to provide insights and drive financial performance.Your role

  • Manage and mentor a team of accounting professionals, ensuring timely delivery of accurate monthly reports that meet company deadlines.
  • Oversee the review of working papers, journal entries, and balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Partner with key stakeholders across the organization to assess data quality, streamline data flows, and enhance processes for improved financial and operational reporting.
  • Lead, inspire, and grow the finance team, aligning their performance with company objectives and fostering a culture of professional development.
  • Cultivate a mindset of innovation and continuous improvement within the finance department, ensuring the team is always striving for excellence.
  • Take the lead in drafting the Monthly Business Review package, analyzing results, and presenting insights to both the TD West and Canadian leadership teams.
  • Provide guidance on variance analysis (actual vs. budget vs. forecast), delivering constructive feedback to direct reports and ensuring actionable insights.
  • Monitor financial performance and collaborate with the Operational Performance team to develop metrics that align with and support business goals.
  • Develop and review financial models to inform bids and business decisions, adding value to strategic initiatives.
  • Oversee the annual budgeting process and mid-year forecasting, ensuring alignment with company goals and financial plans.
  • Coordinate and manage external audits, working closely with auditors to ensure compliance and efficient processes.
  • Assist with optimizing the company’s capital structure, managing working capital, and overseeing debt management strategies.
  • Play a key role in due diligence, financial modeling, and integration efforts related to mergers, acquisitions, and other high-impact investment opportunities.

Your profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field (MBA or CPA preferred).
  • 8-10 years of progressive experience in finance roles, including at least 3-5 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of financial regulations and accounting standards (GAAP, IFRS).
  • Proficiency in financial systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar ERP systems) and advanced Excel skills.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally in order to support operational decisions.
  • Ability to prioritize effectively and direct team resources accordingly.
