You will have the flexibility to manage your work on your own terms and define what work-life balance means to you.When you join CIMA+, we welcome you to a place that you can call home.Job DescriptionAs a seasoned Protection and Control (P&C) Engineer, you will participate in the design of high-level schematics, the development of protection philosophy and contribute to large-scale electrical power projects. You’ll evolve in a multidisciplinary environment and develop your skills by working with experienced professionals, particularly on , and energy projects with numerous customers across Canada. We offer a flexible hybrid work model, enabling you to work from home and from one of our offices. This role can be based in the Eastern Townships (Sherbrooke or Granby) or in Quebec city.Primary Responsibilities

  • Design Protection and Control (P&C) systems using 2D software (AutoCAD) Prepare project deliverables, including detail drawings, electrical schematics, layouts, equipment sizing, etc.
  • Collaborate with engineering team members as well as project managers from other disciplines
  • Prepare plans, drawings and calculations based on supplied specifications
  • Participate in the development of electrical systems for Control and Protection, including single-line diagrams, logic diagrams, AC three-wire diagrams, DC protection and control diagrams,
  • Participate in the development of AC and DC power systems, including single-line diagrams, AC and DC load calculations, distribution diagrams, connection drawings for chargers, batteries, inverters, etc.
  • Participate in site surveys (substations and power plants)
  • Coordinate with engineering disciplines: switchgear, civil, and building engineering disciplines to develop optimized and advanced substation and power plant system design solutions
  • Ability to perform sporadic site work when the opportunity arises (commissioning or supervision)

Qualifications

  • University Degree in electrical engineering
  • Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ) or eligible to register
  • Ten (10) or more years of relevant experience
  • Knowledge of protection and control principles and philosophies is an asset
  • Knowledge of digital substation designs, station design (IEC 61850) is an asset
  • Experience working in electrical systems design is an asset
  • Experience using AutoCAD software is an asset
  • Fluency in French (written and spoken)
  • Basic knowledge of the MS Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Autonomous, resourceful and a team player, client and service oriented
