Title of the Job: Senior Consultant, Disability Program Management

Location: London, ON – Toronto, ON

Job Description: Permanent Full TimeReporting to the Manager, Employee Benefits & Savings Plans, the Senior Consultant – Disability Program Management, will support the management of Canada Life’s employee disability program.The preferred working location for this role is our Winnipeg head officeWhat you will do:

  • Working closely with the Employee Well-being, Benefits & Pension leadership team, support the development and evolution of disability portfolio’s strategic vision and plan offering
  • Research legislative updates, case law, market trends with consulting houses and comparator groups and how they may impact our plan
  • Consult with HR business partners and people leaders by acting as a subject matter expertise in the area of disability program management
  • Support business leaders as they navigate the disability management process for their employees
  • Be a key contributor on a broad range of projects relating to the disability program management
  • Develop education and communication material for HR, people leaders and employees to support disability program management
  • Propose improvements for process efficiency and effectiveness
  • Support the management of the Disability Management Services Offices (DMSO) relationship and program operations
  • Research and recommend solutions for complex issues employee issues
  • Compile, analyze, monitor and develop action plans for a variety of program data, including regular reviews of claim status data
  • Financial management of respective plans to ensure alignment with budget and cost sharing philosophies

What you will bring:

  • Experience:
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in the disability management/prevention, or other relevant human resource area.
  • Education:
  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources or Business/Commerce or related discipline.
  • Skills:
  • Trusted advisor with the ability to build strong partnerships.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex concepts.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Strategic partner, aligning HR programs with broader business goals.
  • Results-oriented, demonstrating the ability to execute on strategic plans and deliver measurable outcomes.
  • Strong working knowledge of Excel, Word and PowerPoint required for day-to-day work.
  • Bilingualism in both English and French is an asset to communicate to clients in both languages.

The base salary for this position is between $61,900- $103,000 annually. This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).
