  • Provide technical leadership and client-oriented solutions related to public consultation, outreach and education, risk communication, crises communication, stakeholder engagement, outrage management, and virtual engagement
  • Prepare strategic advice to clients, including stakeholder engagement and communication strategies, risk analysis, and stakeholder management on behalf of clients
  • Design tactics and engagement activities that will generate meaningful feedback.
  • Provide facilitation for workshops, advisory committees and/or public meetings, including those that can be emotionally charged.
  • Create communication material including key messages, FAQs, presentations, and storyboards.
  • Work with graphic artists to translate communication material into visually engaging documents.
  • Liaise with project managers, subject matter experts, clients and subconsultants.
  • Develop consultation and engagement reports.
  • Contribute regulatory guidance and technical expertise on aspects of the environmental assessment process at the municipal, provincial and federal levels (e.g., Impact Assessment Act).
  • Manage projects and deliverables efficiently, including budget, scope, and schedules.
  • Develop and execute new business strategies and build relationships with internal and external clients.

Skills, Competencies and Qualifications:

  • Minimum 10 years project experience in strategic communication, stakeholder engagement, or community consultation.
  • Environmental assessment experience and experience in the resource, energy, industrial, transportation, waste, and water/wastewater market sectors considered an asset
  • IAP2 trained or working towards IAP2 training.
  • Post-secondary education in communications, public relations, environmental planning, or a related discipline preferred.
  • Experience writing for plain-language and managing the preparation of graphic design content. Adobe Creative Cloud experience an asset
  • Experience delivering projects that meet client objectives, manage risk, and result in high quality deliverables within a client-defined schedule and budget
  • Experience in a consulting environment, having responsibility for meeting revenue targets and building a backlog of projects is preferred
  • Ability to travel, valid driver’s license.
