Job Description: Senior ATIP Analyst – Contract – 17523About the OpportunityOur Federal Government client is seeking a Senior ATIP Analysts to assist with an increased workload.This position requires a senior consultant to interpret and apply the Access to Information Act on contentious and complex documentsDuties include but are not limited to:

• Review of the applicant’s request for information under the Access to Information Act or Privacy Act
• Research precedent case files and determine the most appropriate course of action and select records relevant to requests
• Review records provided by each appropriate Office of Primary Interest (OPI) (which includes OPI recommendations for exemptions/exclusions)
• Prepare the necessary consultations with other government departments, thirds parties, legal and other relevant stakeholders
• Perform a complete review of consultation responses and contact relevant OPIs for clarification if required or disagreement with proposed severances
• Submit a final release package for delegated authority approval
• Update Access Pro Case Management Database to document actions taken through A to F as above
• Coordinate the defence of decisions on complaints submitted to the Information or Privacy Commissioner
• Provide advice and guidance to management including senior management, department and agencies
• Perform a detailed quality control review of all documents

About YouThe successful candidate will have the following:

• Must have a Secondary School Diploma
• Must have a minimum of ten (10) years of experience, within the last twenty (20) years, at a senior analyst level processing files under the federal ATIA, which includes recent experience** in the application of sections 13, 15, 16, 19, 20, 21, 23 and 69 of the ATIA.
• (This experience must include third party consultations, identification of possible cabinet confidences and experience in the investigation process with the Office of the Information Commissioner. This resource should also have detailed* knowledge of and be able to interpret and apply the Access to Information Act on contentious and complex documents pertaining to defence procurement.)
• Must have a min. of 2 years of experience using APCM
• Must have 2 years of experience using APR
• Must have a security clearance at a minimum level of Secret Level II

• Location: Hybrid (3 days min. onsite in the west end National Capital Region)
