Our Edmonton-based client is adding this exciting new role to their team.The Senior Application Specialist plays an integral role in ensuring that enterprise application software functions efficiently and meets the evolving needs of the business.The Senior Application Specialist possesses a blend of technical and data acumen, while being extremely customer service focused. The Senior Applications Specialist works closely with end-users and technical team members to plan, coordinate, configure, deploy, and troubleshoot enterprise SaaS and non-SaaS application software (i.e. Loan Management, Loan Origination, CRMS, CMS, and others). This position is responsible for: contributing to the development and sustainability of enterprise application software and data architecture, maintaining a deep understanding of the enterprise application software capabilities and business objectives, and helping to bridge the gap between technology and business stakeholders.This Senior Application Specialist will support seamless evolution, optimization and operation of enterprise application software, and contribute to the overall productivity and effectiveness.Responsibilities:
Research, Plan & Implement:
- Research, plan, and trial new application software products and techniques to continuously bring forward new capabilities (i.e. AI tools)
- Stay well informed on new technology: including but not limited to products, tools, and services
- Collaborate with business stakeholders and technical team members to understand the enterprise application software, data, security requirements, and objectives
- Partner with key stakeholders to ensure proposed solutions align with information, technology, security and business architecture
- Research, plan, and trial new application software products and techniques to continuously bring forward new capabilities (i.e. AI tools)
- Research, plan, estimate effort, coordinate, implement and configure enterprise application software to meet the specific needs of internal users and external customers
- Contribute to defining, developing, and documenting enterprise application architecture industry best practice standards and techniques and data standards to be implemented
- Provide SME advice on the use of enterprise application software technology stack including best practices
- Provide oversight into enterprise application software standards adherence through reviews of detailed technical specifications
- Provide technical knowledge transfer and guidance to the technical team
- Ensure data generated and imported by the enterprise application software is of high quality, and is impactful to help with decision-making processes, while improving business processes
- Ensure all ETL processes are conducted to spec and per business needs
- Document all processes related to enterprise application software deployment, maintenance, and troubleshooting procedures for future reference and compliance purposes.
- Test, deploy, and monitor the enterprise application software solutions and ensure they meet the functional and non-functional specifications
- Conduct ongoing risk assessments to minimize potential enterprise application systems disruptions and outages.
- Conduct at least annually enterprise application software BC and DC exercises, to ensure end to end high availability and reliability
Enhancement & Support:
- SME for the technical team on the configuration, enhancements, support enterprise application software
- Configure enterprise application software according to user feedback and changing business requirements, to ensure the enterprise application software continues to meet organizational needs
- Leverage APIs and middleware to facilitate effective communication and data exchange among a diverse number of applications
- Oversee development and support of application portfolio back-end processes
- Oversee the coordination of 3rd party enterprise application software maintenance and upgrades; while ensuring they remain efficient, secure, and up to date with the latest technological standards
- Oversee the technology and standards for version control
- Collaborate with vendor software developers and engineers to provide feedback on application performance and suggest necessary adjustments or enhancements
- Ensure optimal enterprise application software performance including but not limited to effective utilization, through the use of monitoring applications performance metrics
- Identify and implement improvements and enhancements of the enterprise application software processes and performance
- Troubleshoot and resolve enterprise application software and data issues, to ensure minimal business disruption
- Assist with incident response, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and problem resolution
