(employee will be working with or have access to children or vulnerable adults and requires a Criminal Record Check)YesJob DescriptionIn accordance with the Vision, Purpose, and Values, and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority, patient safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone at VIHA; as such, the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.Reporting to the Manager, Paediatric Ambulatory Programs, administers respiratory therapy and provides diagnostic data and clinical education to patients and clients referred to the Paediatric Complex Respiratory Clinic and Cystic Fibrosis Clinic.Travel may be a requirement of this position. Transportation arrangements must meet the operational requirements of the Vancouver Island Health Authority in accordance with the service assignment and may require use of a personal vehicle.QUALIFICATIONS:Education, Training And ExperienceGraduation from an approved Respiratory Therapy program and registered with the Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapists and the British Columbia Society of Respiratory Therapists. Completion of a post graduate course in asthma care from a recognized educational facility plus one year of recent experience with paediatric patients. Valid BC Driver’s License.Skills And Abilities

  • Ability to teach.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships.
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
  • Ability to operate related equipment.
