Job Description: The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) is the largest mental health and addiction teaching hospital in Canada, as well as one of the world’s leading research centres in its field. Our services are delivered to help transform the lives of people affected by mental illness and addictions.The Brain Health Imaging Centre (BHIC) at CAMH is a global leader in clinical brain- positron emission tomography (PET) research; and its program of work, over the last 30 years, has had a major impact in understanding brain chemistry, leading to better clinical treatment of mental illness and addiction.The BHIC is seeking one (1) full-time contract (1 year) Research Analyst to support Health Canada regulated Clinical Imaging Studies in youth with substance use.Reporting to the laboratory Head, your responsibilities will include recruitment, screening, consenting and follow-up of study participants, data collection and database maintenance, preparation and maintenance of subject research records, maintenance of regulatory binders and preparation of reports. Competency in following best practices and Standard Operating Procedures and Policies will be expected. You will also be responsible for assisting with ethics and CTA applications, data analysis, and preparation of presentations and manuscripts. You will provide regular updates to the Lab Head (and/or project coordinator) as well as provide support to the research team in other research-related duties. Administrative support may also be required. This position will involve interactions with scientists of various research backgrounds and a strong interest in clinical neuroimaging. You will support a workplace that embraces diversity and encourages teamwork. The position will require a highly experienced health-related research background and the ideal candidate will be capable of conducting daily tasks with minimal supervision. This position is located at 250 College Street.The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in psychology or a related discipline (e.g., neuroscience, pharmacology) as well as at least one-year of relevant clinical or research experience. Previous experience in screening, recruiting, and leading the informed consent process with research participants is required. Previous experience with neuroimaging (e.g. MRI, PET), handling specimens (e.g. blood, urine) and with Health Canada regulated clinical studies is a valuable asset. Previous experience in administration of neuropsychological assessments, structured diagnostic interviewing (e.g. SCID-5) and clinical rating scales is an asset. Candidates will also have demonstrated ability to maintain large databases and use electronic data capture methods (e.g. REDCap) and will have literature review and synthesis skills. Proficiency with word processing, PowerPoint and database software packages is required. The ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and diverse stakeholders is essential. Demonstrated communications skills (both oral and written) are required as is the ability to explain complex issues in plain language. The successful candidate will have excellent attention to detail, the ability to exercise initiative and good judgment, and be able to meet deadlines while working independently with minimal supervision. The successful candidate will also have the ability to multi-task and produce high-quality work in a fast-paced environment. Candidates require the ability to work effectively in a variety of settings with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
