  • Current Certificate of Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Practical Nurse
  • Current BCLS certification
  • Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in acute medical, palliative and oncology nursing is required.
  • Preference will be given to candidates who have completed or are enrolled in Palliative Care/Oncology nursing and/or Critical Care nursing courses.
  • Candidate must demonstrate competency in the following skills: all systems assessment, urinary bladder catheterization, transcription of physicians’ orders, advanced wound care, RPN IV skills, blood and blood products administration, nasogastric tubes, oxygen delivery, normal and abnormal blood values.
  • Demonstrates critical- thinking and decision-making skills.
  • Demonstrated effective documentation skills.
  • Demonstrated excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent command of the English language (written and verbal).
  • Strong organizational skills, with demonstrated ability to prioritize in a fast paced environment.
  • Demonstrated reliable attendance, punctuality, availability and performance required.
