Reporting to Senior Director, Quality Assurance, you will maintain and evolve an ISO 17025 accredited and ISO 9001 registered quality management system (QMS) that supports the mandate of ensuring all beverage alcohol products offered for sale by the LCBO are authentic, safe for consumption, of sound quality and compliant with regulations. You will design, implement, maintain the effective operation of the quality management system, and the continuous improvement of quality assurance operations and services.If you thrive in a role that can use quality to deliver smooth and seamless quality assurance services, then this is the role for you!About the RoleSuccessfully maintain the ISO 17025 and ISO 9001 accreditation/registration, liaise with the accreditation/registration bodies, manage and advance the quality system of the Assurance DepartmentAs a Lead Auditor, manage the internal audit system and conduct internal audits of the quality management system, including laboratory methods, to assess effectiveness and conformity to requirements. Lead, mentor and inspire the team of internal auditorsDefine, maintain and evolve the document control, internal audit, corrective action, complaints and control of nonconformity systemsUse analytical laboratory expertise to ensure appropriate selection, development, validation and optimization of analytical laboratory methods and instrumentationLead the Quality Assurance Laboratory programs to ensure validity of analytical resultsPerform control of non-conforming data, review out-of-control situations, evaluate adequacy of test results and authorize release of results that meet quality assurance criteriaIdentify, report and investigate non-conformances; oversee the development and implementation of corrective actions, assess effectiveness of corrective actionsUse relevant experience to drive product safety and evolve food safety systems. Take a leadership role in making practical recommendations to address risks and opportunities, driving execution of opportunities for improvementTake a customer centric approach to evolve the services of the department and provide knowledgeable guidance to the clients of Quality Assurance servicesSupervise QA Laboratory staff, including performance management, discipline, grievance handling and resolutionBuild and maintain measuring and monitoring tools, including KPIs, to ensure service requirements are met and the continuous improvement of the operationsAbout YouBachelors’ Degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering or related science. Quality Certificate from an accredited college or university; ASQ certification of CQE or CMQ would be an assetDirect experience with practical implementation of a QMS including ISO 17025 and ISO 9001 standards and experience leading and performing internal auditsProficiency in analytical chemistry and instrumental analysis, including working experience with gas chromatography with mass selective detection (GC-MSD, GC-QQQ), GC-FID, high performance liquid chromatography (UPLC, HPLC), LC-MS, ICP-MS, UV-Vis spectrophotometry, NIR spectrometry and Continuous Segmented Flow AnalysisDemonstrated experience in method development and validation, and troubleshooting of laboratory equipment; experience in statistics applied to method validation and calculation of method uncertainty, including SPC, hypothesis testing, regression analysis, and ANOVAProven ability to empower and lead a professional team, with emphasis on employee development and engagement.
