Reporting to the Manager, Office of Strategy Management, the Project Manager is a key member of the planning and performance team within the Diagnostics and Laboratory Medicine portfolio. The Project Manager can listen, collaborate, connect the dots, and build trust in a team. They are able to think strategically, act practically and implement judiciously all while building commitment to a collective goal.This dynamic role is responsible for managing multiple concurrent, complex initiatives. It also involves working with multiple organizations and engaging different levels of leadership. Critical to this role is the ability to apply a health system lens, bringing stakeholders together to design and implement solutions that positively impact the vision and strategic directions of the Joint Department of Medical Imaging (JDMI) and the Laboratory Medicine Program.Duties

  • Assume overall end-to-end project management ownership of multiple projects throughout project life cycle within a multi-disciplinary team environment, including monitoring the deliverables of each project to ensure milestone and on-budget completion
  • Maintain a strong focus on change management and communications across the multiple stakeholders with an emphasis on customer service
  • Regularly interface with project sponsors and stakeholders at various levels to build and maintain strong relationships for successful project and program delivery
  • Develop, implement, manage and review short and long-term plans in alignment with program goals and objectives
  • Mobilize a project team with the right mix of talent and skills to execute on plans; guide team and remediate plans as needed
  • Regularly monitor stakeholder engagement and report on implementation progress, risks and issues to Manager and Director on a regular basis and identify strategies to minimize/resolve
  • Maintain project budget and collaborate regularly with finance team; take remedial action to attain budget and revenue targets in consultation with Manager and Director

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate Degree in a health or Business or related field, required with a Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration or related field, preferred
  • 5+ years working in healthcare project management, and leading organizational change-related initiatives
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent designation and Change Management Certification, an asset
  • Demonstrated track record of successfully delivering large, complex projects, preferably in a public-sector or healthcare environment with multiple stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to integrate both project and change management methodologies effectively
  • Ability to communicate effectively with senior management from both internal and external healthcare organizations, and project stakeholders
  • Excellent ability to anticipate and analyze risks and issues, explore alternatives, develop appropriate recommendations with project team, subject matter experts and present approach to senior leadership
  • Ability to independently manage multiple projects, prioritize multiple conflicting priorities
  • Excellent interpersonal and client relationship skills
  • Experience managing an interdisciplinary project team required; general supervisory or managerial experience, an asset
  • Able to perform in multiple roles which contribute to project, operational or strategic goals/initiatives
  • Strong tactical and good critical strategic thinking
  • Proven ability to adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Strong presentation, writing, and/or training skills
  • Excellent team building skills, listening, coaching, group facilitation and conflict resolution skills
  • Experience in the development of commercial services, business plans, and generating revenue opportunities for an organization, an asset
  • Proficient use of computer, software, and peripheral equipment (i.e., MS Office, MS Outlook, MS Project, MS Visio)
