Title of the Job: Project Manager

Location: Vancouver, BC

Job Description: Eyeline StudiosAt Eyeline, Scanline VFX’s virtual production division, we want to provide you with a solid foundation where you can be a part of an innovative team of brilliant researchers, developers and virtual storytellers. .The Project Manager role serves as the cornerstone of the Project Management Office, reporting to the Head of Project Management. This role is intended to serve the Technology teams of Scanline & Eyeline as a foundational support structure; leading key, strategic projects in collaboration with other qualified and approved project leaders.Individuals in this role will drive project planning, organize the project team and strategically schedule the work to be carried out through to project completion.To remain aligned with company structures and goals, most of the Project Manager’s work will be “Project Centric” however, it is also woven into our company culture to remain flexible & supportive of teams in need and therefore time will be allocated to supporting teams or departments.Key Responsibilities

  • In this role, you own the development of project plans. This includes defining stakeholders and communication paths, requirements gathering, setting project goals in line with strategic company targets, partnering with project leads to break down the work into logical steps and create a project schedule, utilizing agreed upon industry supported methods of estimating effort and assessing resource needs across all required departments/teams, and assessing upfront risks and developing contingency plans
  • Lead Project Kickoff meetings, responsible for recurring status updates and must lead key collaborator reports at agreed upon cadence
  • Lead Sprint Planning Meetings with the appropriate subject matter experts, ensuring work is broken down into manageable tasks to be assigned to project resources
  • Monitor resource allocation and availability, working closely with department leads to ensure adequate staffing levels for the project
  • Direct the coordination of administrative tasks such as organizing meetings, preparing meeting agendas, and maintaining project documentation
  • Ongoing management and reporting of the project elements (reporting project status and progress, risk reporting and mitigation planning/escalation, tracking actual effort vs. estimate)
  • Manage risks and issues that could impact the project timeline or outcomes
  • Manage Agile processes and lead teams by modifying the project framework to accommodate Scrum or Kanban meetings, managing backlogs, and facilitating sprint planning and reviews
  • Ensure Agile metrics and visualizations are maintained to track progress and productivity
  • Manage stakeholder expectations and ensure their continuous involvement and satisfaction during the project
  • Build consensus among broad teams with varied and competing interests. Explore contrary opinions and “farm for dissent”
  • Participate in the development of the project management discipline at Scanline/Eyeline

Qualifications

  • Advanced experience using project management software such as Jira, AirTable, ClickUp, Asana, Flow (ShotGrid)
  • Advanced understanding of core project management frameworks like Agile & Waterfall
  • Advanced understanding of the software development life cycle
  • Strong interpersonal skills to lead multi-disciplinary teams of senior staff;
  • Strong listening skills and an ability to present effectively; maintain charisma to inspire & motivate groups; and the will to support, coach and stand-up for your team (to the extent that it serves what’s best for the company)
  • Resilience and an ability to readily adapt to change
  • Exceptional time management & organizational skills to maintain project plans and manage data within supporting software tools
  • Experience managing within technology and/or software development teams is an advantage
  • Experience in the IT and/or VFX industry (or related fields) is an advantage

$130 – $170,000 a yearThis salary range is specific to applicants applying to our position in Vancouver, BC. To determine your base salary, we consider your qualifications, skills, and experience.
