This Project Manager, reporting to the Manager, will manage the delivery of projects of scale and complexity according to time, cost, and quality requirements. The Project Manager is responsible for the end-to-end delivery of project scope and forecasts timelines for project implementation within the project lifecycle, translating Sponsor instruction into a project plan that incorporates functional, technical, operational, and financial (cost) elements.What will I be doing?

• Performs complete start to close-out project management on selected complex, high-risk capital projects and programs for new, replacement or enhanced infrastructure requirements, as assigned, to meet corporate commitments and internal and external stakeholder requirements for schedules and budget,.
• Ensures the project is progressing by completing, assigning, and monitoring day-to-day tasks and providing updates to management and plans; documents lessons learned to meet project deadlines/milestones in a timely manner and provides management with an overall view of the project’s status.
• Manages meeting schedules and attends project meetings.
• Serves as a technical specialist on studies, including editing, estimating, implementation, construction, testing
• Liaises and collaborates between various internal/external stakeholders to ensure that project requirements are being met and that proper policy and commitments are being followed.
• Ensures stakeholder input is accounted for in the project outcomes, ensure issues are appropriately managed and escalated for resolution. Stakeholders are informed of any impacts or changes.
• Completes regular project performance reports to monitor KPIs and ensure project is within budget to enable team/management to track work, clarify activities, and meet objectives.
• Assists project leaders in resolving project related disputes with stakeholders, including utility conflicts, and coordinates the mitigation measures
• Monitors quality of consultant and contractors scope of work
• Review monthly invoices of consultants and contractors and ensure accuracy considering the level of effort.
• Work collaboratively with team including but not limited to Consultant, Technical advisor, internal and external stakeholders, Delivery partner and Design Builder.

What Skills and Qualifications Do I Need?

• Completion of a degree in Engineering (i.e., civil, industrial, geotechnical, mechanical, electrical), Architecture or a related discipline – or a combination of education, training and experience deemed equivalent Engineering or Architectural college/ university degree or diploma
• Demonstrated experience in project management, preferably within the public sector
• On site construction experience is a very strong asset
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, P.Eng. designation or partial completion is an asset
• A valid Ontario “G” Driver’s Licence is an asset for regular site visits.
• Project management experience to manage assigned projects and supervise staff engaged in all stages of project management from start to close-out
• Knowledge of transportation industry is an asset
• Organizational, interpersonal and oral/written/presentation communication skills to coordinate complex projects under pressure to meet schedule and budget commitment
• Proficiency is software such as MS Word, Excel, Visio, Primavera P6
• A valid Ontario “G” Driver’s Licence is an asset for regular site visits.
