Title of the Job: Project Controller – Contract, REMOTE

Location: Vancouver, BC

Job Description: We are seeking a dedicated Project Controller to join our client’s team remotely, where you will play a pivotal role in partnering with Business Unit leadership and the Operations team to drive optimal performance.In this collaborative position, you will work closely with the BU controller group to support business processes and assist in effectively managing projects by ensuring compliance with company procedures while delivering best practices and applying Project Management principles.Your responsibilities will also involve helping to maintain and update business systems to ensure the accuracy of financial information, as well as prioritizing cash management activities to improve cash flow through effective billing and debt collection strategies. Furthermore, you will play a key role in driving continuous improvement in Financial Processes and systems, all while ensuring a strong focus on health and safety in every aspect of your work.Contract duration: 6 months

Responsibilities

• Provide knowledge transfer on project financials to line managers and project managers.
• Manage collection and dispute management processes and collaborate with project stakeholders (including the Legal Department).
• Continuously monitor and improve processes related to project reporting, administration, and control.
• Utilize advanced Excel skills to train colleagues and enhance data analysis.
• Coordinate with corporate accounting.
• Maintain and update project reporting using Power BI tools.
• Monitor receivables, follow up on collections, and update the Collections Module to improve forecasting of invoicing and estimated payment timelines.
• Adapt to changing deliverables and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Participate in monthly project reviews to ensure accurate financial reporting and address any concerns raised by the project delivery team (e.g., contract agreements, work delivery, client communication, scope changes, and safety concerns).
• Perform additional tasks as assigned by management.

Qualifications

• Relevant accounting degree
• CPA is an asset, although not required
• Experience with a construction company required
• Project accounting experience required
• Ability to multitask and meet deadlines effectively
