Job Description: Join a top employer and advance your career. Aplin has partnered with a client in Defense space to look for a Procurement Specialist on full time permanent basis.Responsibilities:

• Establish and maintain relationships with internal and external collaborators on plans, technical and commercial aspects
• Counsel and support internal customers and suppliers on commercial issues
• Support, where applicable, the Procurement commodity team in establishing sourcing strategies for the development programs
• Develop and maintain a healthy relationship with suppliers
• Research, analyze and document opportunities in the supply chain process to improve overall supply chain effectiveness
• Identify and realize total cost optimization opportunities (savings) by product families
• Negotiate favorable agreement/purchase order terms with suppliers for the procurement of goods, services, and supplies
• Draft commercial agreements with the suppliers and apply contractual procedures
• Plan, track, analyze and monitor the balanced scorecard and key performance indicators
• Represent the Supply Chain through the change management process
• Participate in PMR in conjunction with Business unit

Qualifications:

• You have a bachelor’s degree in business administration, in law, in supply chain or equivalent
• You have minimum three (3) years of relevant experience
• You have experience in the aerospace industry and/or manufacturing environment and/or program management, and/or the Defense industry, in a commercial role, an asset
• You have excellent negotiation skills and experience in project management
• You are detail oriented, focused and committed to meeting deadlines
• You are a strong team player, recognized for your leadership and innovation, and ability to mobilize a team
• You have a high proficiency and are a good communicator in English (written and spoken)
• You have strong capabilities in operations and financial management
• You are comfortable with complex technical topics and have knowledge of legal terminology or interpretation of contracts
• You are familiar with Just-In-Time purchasing logistic, integrated supply chain and lean manufacturing concepts
• You can work with Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook and SharePoint
