We steward precious resources by finding more sustainable solutions.Job SummaryTYLin is seeking a Principal Engineer (Senior Advisor) to join our City Solutions team in the Greater Toronto Area.Responsibilities & QualificationsDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Advise and provide mentorship to the Transportation Planning teamAssist in business development activitiesAssist in strategic planning within City Solutions and across TYLin sectorsAssist in preparation and assure quality control of proposalsAssist in delivery and assure quality control of projectsLiaise with third party agencies (e.g., local, and regional municipalities, municipal transit agencies, etc.) and other relevant authorities (e.g., governments and other stakeholders) on traffic/transportation issues and to facilitate necessary regulatory approvals and permits/approvals for individual projectsCoordinate with third parties, including local municipalities and transit agencies to facilitate planning level road and transit closure approvals necessary during all stages of design and constructionQUALIFICATIONS:Completion of a degree in Engineering, applied science or Transportation Planning, with a minimum of 25 years of related experience.Demonstrated related experience in traffic and transportation and/or coordinating third party agreements and approvals required to support project and program delivery.A professional designation such as P.Eng, C.E.T, or Registered Professional Planner or Project Management Professional (PMP) is considered an asset.Knowledge of transportation planning, traffic modelling, traffic impact studies, and traffic operations analysis, preferably within the context of transit projects delivery.Knowledge and experience of facilitating third-party traffic and transportation requirements from local municipal road authorities and transit agencies for transit infrastructure projects,Experience in obtaining municipal and provincial traffic-related permits and approvals necessary for the implementation of transit projects.Experience with projects applying alternative delivery procurement models is considered an asset.Tact, diplomacy, and negotiation skills to negotiate solutions and agreements.Strong interpersonal, oral/written communication, and presentation skills to perform public relations duties at public meetings with local ratepayer groups, politicians, and municipal officials, and develop reports, and recommendations.Knowledge of Highway Traffic Act, Ontario Traffic Manual Books, City of Toronto Act, Planning Act, Metrolinx Act, and Municipal Code a significant asset.Client focused, always striving to give clients the best solutions.Strong commitment to innovation by creating new and better ways to solve clients’ toughest challenges.High levels of integrity, always doing the right thing in an ethical, fair, and sustainable way.Demonstrated experience of collaboration in a diverse and inclusive team, working together toward technical excellence.Additional Information#LI-remoteTYLin offers a comprehensive total rewards package.
