Interacting with a wide variety of students, staff, and visitors in the exemplary enforcement of parking and security needs across all campuses. This includes the development and reporting of any events following the policies and procedures implemented and the Alberta legislation for parking enforcement. This includes events and activities that are happening on NAIT campuses.Key Responsibilities:Guides the enforcement unit’s culture and sets tone for positive staff interactions with each other and with the campus communityFollowing up on customer issues and complaints and facilitating solutions, in collaboration with Parking ServicesDevelops, trains, and assigns duties to enforcement officers, oversees daily operations including the oversight of enforcement and safeguarding policies and proceduresAuthorizes enforcement actionsCompletes payroll reporting and safety records for enforcement officersAdvises NAIT staff, students, and visitors on matters of parking policy and procedureAssists in Planning and oversight of special event parkingWorks with internal and external clients to determine event parking needsMaintenance and troubleshooting of key parking services equipment ex.) pay stations, iPad, vehicleSkills & Abilities:An accreditation, certification and/or demonstrated experience in supervisory or other related human capital/staff development are a requirement. Coursework in workplace culture training is a strong asset.Courses or a practical training in standard office computer software (Word, Excel) are necessary. Basic accounting skills are an asset.Customer service training or equivalent is required as the position deals with a variety of people from both within and outside the NAIT community dailyTraffic Management training or a practical training equivalent is an asset. Parking course certification is an asset.Interpersonal/interaction skillsProficiency in using computers and computer systems such as License Plate Recognition (LPR) system, T2 system, T2 mobile enforcement app, Digital IRIS (parking machine software), mobile payment app (HONK), and Microsoft Office.Proper note taking and report writingGood oral and written communication skillsProviding testimony in court, if requiredUnderstanding of provincial and municipal parking and traffic legislationQualifications:Completion of Grade 12An accreditation, certification and/or demonstrated experience in supervisory or other related human capital/staff development are a requirement.
