Please read below for additional details and let us know if you have the skills and experience we are looking for by submitting your application.About the Position:Reporting to the Outreach Specialist, the Outreach Program Coordinator is responsible for centralized support of key outreach programs such as the Provincial Food Bank and the Safekeepers Pilot Program. This role will include creating new and existing community partnerships and responding to inquiries from across the province by providing information about Outreach programs. The position may be assigned to support other outreach programs as they are created over time.Some specific duties:

  • Purchases pet food within assigned authority level, coordinates pet food transportation across the province and regularly provides data regarding utilization of the food bank.
  • Provides support to the Vancouver Food Bank by filling in for the Outreach Assistant when absent.
  • Actively administers the Safekeepers Program by receiving and successfully completing the training to administer client and foster intake, track and submit agreed to metrics for performance tracking and contributing to continual program improvements.
  • Updates outreach program website and creates social media content related to outreach programs work as required.
  • Identifies any process improvements related to processes, content and data accuracy that align with program goals and make recommendations for improvements; implement any approved initiatives within scope. Provides assistance and support to evaluate and monitor program performance on an ongoing basis by analyzing key metrics and creating comprehensive reports.
  • Meets with Community Animal Care Centers and program partners in key locations across the province with a view to promoting and consulting on improvements to programs and initiatives.
  • Coordinates volunteer support for Outreach program by working with Volunteer Resources; utilizes volunteer database for all related activities.
  • Represents Outreach at community events, with the goal of creating partnerships with community social service agencies, food banks, violence prevention organizations and other community-based organizations that can leverage our work in community.
  • Regularly liaises with BC SPCA staff and external partner programs, thereby ensuring full support for the programs.
  • Coordinates sharing of data, information and all aspects of scheduling for media interviews in support of highlighting Outreach programs.
  • Process program invoices, ensure timely submission of cheque reimbursements, and track payments to program vendors.
  • Provide support to the Outreach team with new and emerging initiatives to meet the needs of the new strategic plan, including but not limited to administrative tasks, coordinating logistics, doing research and gathering data.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications you need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in, plus 3-5 years’ related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience acceptable to the Employer. Related experience includes, but is not limited to:
  • Community development work
  • Project coordination
  • Data analysis and report writing
  • Creating social media content
  • Building partnerships
  • Excellent written and presentation skills; ability to respectfully relate to a diverse audience
  • Outstanding customer service skills
  • Demonstrated ability to organize work, meet priorities and to work within demanding work schedules with minimal supervision
  • Valid BC Class 5 Drivers License with a clear driving record
  • Outstanding computer skills including HTML and design software (WordPress and Canva experience is preferred), Windows, MS Office incl. PowerPoint and Excel
