Lighting New Ways in Healthcare.Humber River Health (HRH) is a prominent 1.8 million square foot, fully-digital acute care facility in Canada, equipped with state-of-the-art technology and catering to a wide range of medical needs. It serves a population of over 850,000 individuals residing in the northwest Greater Toronto Area. HRH operates 656 acute inpatient beds at the Wilson site, 34 beds at Church Campus and 32 beds at Finch Campus, with over 4000 staff, approximately 800 physicians and over 1,000 volunteers. HRH also includes the Reactivation Care Centres (RCCs) at the Finch and Church Campuses which represent a unique partnership among multiple hospitals in the GTA with a focus on delivery of specialised care with the focus on reactivation to patients who have been designated as Alternative Level of Care.As Canada’s first digital hospital and home of the first digital Command Centre, our commitment to innovation, research, and academic excellence remains at the core of our organization. Residents also have access to interdisciplinary health professionals to support collaborative learning and comprehensive care experience.EXCELLENT CAREER OPPORTUNITYRight now, we are looking for:ORAL MAXILLOFACIAL SURGEONDepartment and Program OverviewDepartment of SurgeryPosition SummaryThe Oral and Maxillofacial Division in the Department of Surgery enjoys a robust and full scope of practice with the capabilities to manage complex maxillofacial abnormalities. The position provides access to elective operating room theatre time, the requirement for emergency department involvement with full facial trauma coverage, and the availability to asses patients in the outpatient OMFS clinic. On-Call coverage is weekly, and distributed equally amongst the division members – anticipated to be once every 5 weeks.HRH has an expectation that all physicians will apply for an academic appointment in the Temerty Faculty of Medicine, University of Toronto. Your support for medical learners is key to our strategic plan as an academic centre and our participation as a member of TAHSN.Qualifications, Skills and AttributesIn addition to demonstrated clinical excellence and outstanding interpersonal skills, you require relevant Fellowship certification from the Royal College of Dentists of Canada in Oral Maxillofacial Surgery; a full specialty licence in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery from the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario and a demonstration of post residency fellowship activity.Candidates must be able to demonstrate previous hospital experience and the management of complex case. Dentoavleolar surgery is currently not a focus of the Program. Candidates must also deomonstrate a knowledge of undertaking clinical research.Letters of support should indicate a candidate’s ability to provide superior care, engage in academic research and/or teaching, and collaborative interactions with all members of the hospital care team in pursuit of outstanding patient outcomes.
