Title of the Job: Nurse Manager LTC (Part-Time Nights)

Job Description: Under the direction of the Director of Care, the NURSE MANAGER will develop, coordinate, implement and evaluate Resident care services, supervise, direct and evaluate subordinate nursing staff, and ensure Resident and family satisfaction through continuous quality improvement initiatives.You will ensure care services are delivered in a manner keeping with the Resident’s, and their families, expectations, and in compliance with applicable legislation, regulations and professional standards. You will oversee the effective allocation of financial, human and other resources, ensuring departmental needs are met in a fiscally responsible manner.A successful candidate will possess; strong problem solving and conflict resolution skills; proven labour relations experience; attention to detail, effectively communicate, promote accountability, and possess the ability to thrive in a high demand and highly regulated environment.You will be expected to represent Shepherd Village in a courteous and professional manner, while maintaining amicable relationships with peers, subordinates, Residents & families in keeping with the Shepherd Village Mission, Vision & Values.Candidate must be flexible to work a weekend rotation. This is an excellent opportunity for Registered Nurses with previous management experience.Our ideal candidate possesses the following qualifications & skills:Registered Nurse (RN) with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO), requiredBachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) preferredMinimum 3 years of long-term care experience, requiredMinimum 3 years previous management, or equivalent experience, requiredGood understanding of Occupational Health & Safety legislation and practicesFamiliar with workplace investigations and incident reportingPossesses excellent problem solving and conflict resolution skillsStrong documentation and computer skillsExcellent oral & written communication skills in English language requiredAbility to stay organized and effectively communicate with others in a high demand environmentExcellent organizational traits, positive approach, patience, empathy and tactfulnessThe regular schedule for this position iis 30 hours bi-weekly with a rotating weekend component.We offer an engaging and supportive environment, competitive compensation, and the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of seniors.We thank all applicants for their interest, however, only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
