Campus: St. George (Downtown Toronto)Description:The Enterprise Applications and Solutions Integration (EASI) department within the Chief Information Officer’s (CIO) Division is a central department responsible for all matters pertaining to the development, maintenance and effectiveness of the core administrative management and student systems at the U of T. Included within these responsibilities are all central SAP systems, such as Financial Services, Human Resources, Research Administration and Procurement; the central U of T Student System (ROSI); approximately 40 related vendor and specialized web applications, as well as central Business Intelligence and Document Management applications.Your Opportunity:The Meeting Room Technology Coordinator (MRTC) provides onsite support at highly confi dential meetings andtheir required meeting room technologies for Governing Council Chamber and Governing Council Boardroom, President’s Boardroom, and other Simcoe Hall meeting rooms including providing support outside of regular working hours (i.e. evenings, weekends). The MRTC regularly attends University executive and senior administrative meetings that include strategic discussions of labour relations, collective bargaining including contingency planning, labour issues management, University governance, academic tribunals, meetings pertaining to strategic human resource matters, senior board and committee meetings. The Meeting Room Technology Coordinator (MRTC) has responsibility for the function of meeting room technical equipment; setting up audio-visual (a/v) equipment and providing on-site, live running of equipment during audio and video conferencing for senior level meetings; including set-up of complex connections between remote facilities. The Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the quality of legally required audio recordings and video testimony for Appeals,Discipline, and Faculty Grievance (ADFG) hearings; liaises directly with the A/V vendor as well as other institutional and divisional IT resources to troubleshoot technical issues. The MRTC works to ensure appropriate upgrades and repairs to room technologies are scheduled with the A/V vendor after consultation with stakeholders.QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREDEDUCATION: Three (3) year college diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience.EXPERIENCE: Three (3) years related work experience with in a service and/or production unit with in-depth knowledge of sophisticated audio-visual equipment, associated peripheral equipment (cameras, speakers, projectors, computers, monitors). Experience in standard office software, communications packages such as Skype for Business, transmission protocols and AV codecs.SKILLS: Strong commitment to high quality service, professionalism, and teamwork. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to gain customer confidence and trust. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey information to customers who have varying levels of technical knowledge. Excellent problem solving skills. Good administration skills, demonstrating attention to detail and the ability to prioritize. Critical requirement to protect the confidentiality of information presented at meetings. Excellent technical, and problem-solving capabilities.OTHER: Must have the ability to perform duties in a busy, service-oriented department; work well under pressure to meet strict deadlines; deal with senior-level client requests in a live-troubleshooting mode. Demonstrated ability to adapt to shifting priorities, demands and timelines, demonstrated problem-solving capabilities. Demonstrated initiative to learn new skills and innovative technologies.
