A dynamic and diverse place awaits you!As a mechanic, you will ensure the smooth operation of the Company’s vehicles and motorized equipment.SPECIAL WORKING CONDITIONS AT THE OLD PORT :

  • Status: Unionized, permanent ;
  • Schedule : Sunday, Monday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m ;
  • Date : As of now ;

  • Salary: $27.00 + 3.75% compensation = $28.01 (Class 4).

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES :Mechanical maintenance

  • Ensures that the preventive maintenance program for vehicles and equipment is followed, using the software, maintenance manual and schedule ;
  • Ensures the repair and maintenance of the company’s specialized vehicles and equipment ;
  • Maintains the safety and aesthetics of fleet vehicles, according to company standards and image ;
  • Carries out various minor cosmetic repairs related to the fleet of vehicles and equipment ;
  • Performs various welding operations on vehicles, equipment and tooling ;
  • Advises other departments on vehicle and machinery operation and service follow-up ;
  • Keeps track of materials and equipment inventories ;
  • Prepares the list of part numbers required for a repair with the name of the supplier, obtains approval for expenses and ensures that they are passed on to the storekeeper for purchase ;
  • Calls on various suppliers to honor warranties and also to prepare estimates for repairs or manufacturing ;
  • Estimates costs for preventive maintenance programs ;
  • Is called upon to manufacture objects to facilitate storage, work organization or the efficiency of existing tools in order to improve their effectiveness.

EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED :

  • Diploma of Vocational Studies (DVS) in automotive mechanics ;
  • 1 year experience in general automotive mechanics (including experience in electronic fuel injection and diesel/hydraulics);
  • Bilingualism: English (intermediate, level 2);
  • Knowledge of dent removal and painting (an asset);
  • Basic computer skills;
  • Valid driver’s license;
  • 6 months to 1 year customer service experience.
