  • Design, specify, and manage the procurement and construction of electrical automation systems and components.
  • Lead the mechanical design for large capital projects, ensuring alignment with plant productivity and quality goals.
  • Provide technical support to the plant, assisting in pre-studies for effective solutions.
  • Oversee procurement, fabrication, installation, commissioning, and start-up of industrial manufacturing equipment.
  • Develop detailed mechanical design packages, including functional specifications and estimates.
  • Collaborate with operations personnel and internal support teams to meet project objectives.
  • Manage external contractors and engineering teams when required.
  • Participate in major capital projects from inception to completion, including equipment reception and commissioning.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical diploma.
  • 5+ years of experience in mechanical design, particularly in multi-part assemblies and pneumatic systems.
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks 3D; AutoCAD experience is a plus.
  • Strong background in the design, operation, and maintenance of mechanical equipment.
  • Knowledge of mechanical design standards and strength of materials, with welding procedure experience.
  • Proven project management or team leadership experience.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and maintain confidentiality.
  • French communication skills are an asset but not mandatory.
