The information collected will be used solely to carry out our obligations under the federal Employment Equity Act.Our Albian Aerodrome location is seeking an experienced Mechanic to support our diverse operations. This is a rotational camp position with seven (7) days on and seven (7) days off, Thursday to Wednesday schedule. Flights and accommodations are provided.Main Functions:
The Mechanic is responsible for the overall maintenance of required equipment needed for the proper function of Ground Services and Aerodrome Operations.Responsibilities:

  • Inspect, service and maintain airfield heavy equipment and ground service equipment, including:

o Diagnose diesel/gas engines, electrical, hydraulic, driveline malfunctions and other mechanical issues and complete required repairs;
o Repair, replace, clean and adjust parts;
o Oil changes;
o General maintenance and repair activities related to Aerodrome Operations;
o Use electric and oxy-acetylene welding equipment, lubrication equipment and other vehicle repair tools and equipment, and operate tools and machinery in a safe effective manner;
o Use of measuring devices and understanding of visual displays;
o Inspect and operate all equipment to be repaired for testing and movement to and from shop;
o Prepare inspection, maintenance, and work reports, and record details on prescribed forms and databases in accordance with established procedures;
o Ability to source, locate, and arrange delivery of replacement parts;
o Completion of all maintenance and repairs work within approved budgets and the scope of CNRL service agreements;
o Inventory management; and
o Housekeeping duties, including cleaning of ground service/other equipment, maintenance facility and general operations upkeep.

  • Ensure compliance with all legislative, industry and customer standards including Transport Canada, Occupational Health and Safety and CNRL’s safety and site regulations.
  • Provide services after hours on an on-call/as-needed basis.
  • General support activities related to Aerodrome Operations.
  • Maintain a tidy and orderly work area, exhibiting pride in work performance and contributing to a healthy and safe work environment.
  • Ensure exceptional, courteous and respectful customer service.
  • Comply with and participate in EFC’s Health, Safety & Environment and Quality programs and initiatives.
  • Perform any other duties as required.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic trade or Commercial Transport.
  • Interprovincial Red Seal Certification is preferred.
  • Minimum of 4 years diesel, automotive, truck/coach, hydraulics and/or heavy equipment mechanical experience.
  • Relevant work experience in Aerodrome or remote worksite conditions, preferably in aviation.
  • Experience troubleshooting hydraulic and electronic systems.
  • Valid class 5 driver’s license and clean Driver’s Abstract. No restrictions permitted.
  • Able to meet all required pre-employment and site access screening including, but not limited to, Common Safety Orientation (CSO), Site Safety Orientation and Drug & Alcohol test.
  • EFC and CNRL required theoretical and practical training (i.e. WHIMS, AVOP, DG Cargo, etc.).
  • EFC on the job training for Ramp and Ground Handling Operations policies, procedures and practices.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel and Word.
  • Good verbal, reading comprehension and writing skills.
  • Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times.
  • A strong work ethic and positive team attitude.
  • Able to work in inclement weather conditions, overtime and extended shifts.
  • Able to lift or move up to 60 lbs.
  • Able to adapt to different situations and manage stress.
  • Highly motivated and able to work autonomously in a fast paced environment.
  • Able to multi-task and establish priorities in a dynamic and changing environment.
  • Dedicated to getting the job done while meeting established standards of quality, safety, and client satisfaction.
  • Professional, punctual, and diligent.
  • Able to work collaboratively as a productive member of the EFC Team.
